My belly button is killing my. I had an infection a couple of months ago and its was oozing pus but this time it just hurts. There's nothing oozing out of it and either its swollen or there's a large lump in it. What could this be please help, it hurts everytime I get up or sit down! Thanks for any help.
Cheers, morrison

It sounds like it could be an abcess (pocket of pus) if this is the case it would need to be drained (by an md) when you had the infection were you told whaat kind of infection it was staph??? Were you on antibiotics??? Last have you been running any high temps???

They just said I had an infection, they were pretty vague (cellulitis I think), it was the er though and they just try to hurry everyone out. I did take antibotics (dicloxacillin), and used anti fungal cream and it cleared up. I do have a little fever not much- 99.4 it also itches a bit but i'm afraid to touch it. Thank you for anymore advice you can give.

Dont touch it keep it covered till you can see the md sometimes cellulitis is caused by a staph infection called mrsa which is contagiuos cover with gauze and go to the md on moday if its still bothering you chances are the infection wasresistant to the antibiotic you were on further more if it was draining pus the er should have cultered it (swabed it with a big qtip) and should be able to tell you what kind of infection it is..
Hope I could help let me know iwth any??????

Thank you for the advice I probably will go see a dr on monday. Its very odd looking this lump is taking up almost all the room in my belly button. And no they didn't clean it out, he just looked at it and said I had a skin infection. Well again thanks, hopefully it's nothing too bad that will involve them having to come near me with a scalpel!
