Have I Had a Compex Partial Seizure? Posted: 10-14-05 19:13pm
Hi, I am a 42 yr old mom and teacher who
has been having memory loss, headaches
daily, and moments where I feel
dazed...Kinda like brain fog for a few
months now. Drs. Are unsure what's
wrong. I find myself doing things and
don't remember doing them so I go back and
ck..Kinda like ocd.. Sometimes I am
driving on a familiar road and miss my
turn...I feel like I am going nuts !! My
doctor had me go for a cat today and
eeg...Possible brain thing..Seizures of
some sort...Or worse a brain tumor. Has
anyone had anything remotely similar to
this ...Help please. Thanks. Pam

hey,
i have had at least one complex partial
seizure, and it was the type where you
don't remember, thus the 'complex' portion
of that. The only way I really knew was I
woke up to my husband telling me I had had
another seizure. (my first one was 7
months before that, and I think more of a
grand mal). But it would affect my memory
pretty bad for about a week, my short term
memory the most. So it may very well be
that. Hopefully the eeg and ct scan, or
even maybe an mri if they do that, will
show something. None of those tests
showed anything on me, I only knew because
my husband saw it. It's pretty scary,
especially since for a while, he would be
gone from monday through friday or
saturday, working out of town. Hopefully
those tests will show something, and
though I wouldn't wish it on anyone,
hopefully it's only seizures and not a
brain tumor. I've had two grandparents
who had brain tumors. One was fatal, the
other was removed successfully, so those
are scary too. Best of luck, and feel
free to email me if you want to, I know
support helps a lot.

I hope you have found some answers now!
Complex partials can have some odd
symptoms like you mention. My son has
complex partials....Often I can tell he
just is not all there, but he can walk and
talk during them.....
