Getting the Diagnosis So Desperately Needed.diabetes???? Posted: 10-14-05 08:04am
 my mother is very ill, it is so
obvious to all of us around her who love
her very much. Two days a go she was
given a urine test by her doctor who told
her she was without a doubt diabetic.
Today she went back for blood results
which showed her blood sugar as nearly
normal and has been told to go back for a
starvation test after the weekend.
Mum appears to have all the symptoms of
diabetes- constantly peeing, sores which
do not heal, extreme thirst and tiredness.
She is suffering from severe headaches
and blurred vision something which has
come around in bouts for the past couple
of years. Mum is also overwheight.
She was diagnosed with me four years ago
and has been unable to work for some time
and also suffers from depression. Mum has
been hospitalised several times in
previous ears with apparant but never
confirmed angina attacks (angiograms and
treadmill tests have showed up ok) and
also severe headaches and pains down left
side which have not shown up as strokes so
nit has been suggested that perhaps they
are tias or even a form of migraines.
We have pleaded in hospitals and with
doctors etc. To try and find out what is
wrong with mum but nobody seems to listen
or care and half the toime her doctor is
slack about giving mum results and tests
she has to reallt push for everything eg.
Cholestorol tests and these recent
diabetes tests.
Mum is 54 and I am terrified she is going
to give up because of low self esteem etc.
Has anyone any suggestions???
