Hi! I was told 5 years ago that I suffer from endometriosis. I felt fine after the surgery until now, I got a bad episode of pain a few nights ago. I am in a new relationship and months ago my boyfriend and I decided to have a baby. Is it why I can't get pregnant or is there a special treatment?
Ty :)

I'm guessing your surgery was also about 5 years ago. My guess is that the endo has probably built up again. I would suggest seeing your ob/gyn and having him check that out for you.

The bad thing about endo is that there is nothing you can do to really prevent it from building back up again. Usually it needs to be cleaned up periodically throughout your life.

Wishing you the best

Endo And Pregnancy
Hi caroline,

my name is angie and I was diagnosed 8 years ago having endo. After my first lap and laser surgery I was told to get pregant as quickly as possible and the longer I went without getting pregnant the lower my chances were.

I have never been on birth control (i am 30 and have been sexually active since 18) and have never gotten pregnant. I saw different fertility specialists to no avail.

So, unfortunately, endo can wreak havoc on a woman's chance to have children.

There is nothing worse then wanting children and not being able to have them. My next step is scheduling surgery at the cec in ga. Doctors there do not do the traditional laser ablation. Instead they do excision surgery which is cutting out the endo. They have a very high rate of no recurrance and also since they have such a high rate of no recurrance they also have a very high rate of reversing infertility. I am hoping to get pregnant after surgery. Last chance before I have a hysterectomy which also is not a cure. I'm hoping.....And good luck to you making lots of babies!!
