I know this forum is not a substitute for a doctor, but I just would like to mention this problem in case someone out there has had something similar. My husband had gall bladder surgery 8 days ago. The surgeon said the surgery went real well and he went home the next day. All was fine till yesteray when he started complaining of right sided pain near where he had the gallbladder when he took a deep breath in. Then last night he developed a low grade temp, 99.7. It goes down to 98.8 if he just sits and does nothing, if he moves around it goes up again. We called the surgeon. He said the pain he feels is quite normal ( :!: ) during recover. No explaination for the low grade temp. He's supposed to see him tomorrow. He is not jaudiced or nauseous. Because i'm a compulsive worrier i'm imagining the worst. Has anyone had similar symptoms? The doc never mentioned there were any risks involved in this surgery. :(

Sounds to me as though he has an infection maybe & a course of antibiotics will probably do the trick, but I am not a Dr. The best thing, is to wait & see what the dr says. I had a lap cholecystectomy a week ago & am still suffering under my ribs. As my surgeon said to me, its the same procedure, even though its done in a different way. But the fever certainly sounds like hes fighting off a bit of an infection somewhere. Try not to panic though!
