I am schedule to have leep procedure done
on the 4th of nov. I will also be put to
sleep to have it done because my cervix is
hard to get to and the dr said he needs to
be able to work with my body and get it to
do what he needs it to do and if I were
awake it would be very painful. I am 28
years old and have 1 child but I also want
at least one more. I am just really
worried and stressed right now. Could
someone please tell me what to expect
during and after procedure? What about
infertility possibilities? Thanks so
much!!!

Leep Posted: 10-19-05 16:58pm
Im 27 and I had the leep done last august.
I was worried also, but surprised
afterward becaused there was very little
pain. I have no children and my Dr.
Reassured me that it would have no affect
on the possiblity for children in the
future. They had a video for me to watch
explaining the procedure also. I was a
little sore, but nothing horrible, I
thought the biopsy was more painful then
the leep. I hope that this helps a
little, and that all goes well!

I'm 16 and I just had my leep procedure in
september and I haven't had my period

cos I have that implanon rod in my arm.
I'm really worried that it isn't normal.

I also had the leep procedure and I agree
too that the biopsy was worse. I had the
leep done after I got a 2nd opinion from a
doctor in boston. The original doctor I
saw at the local hospital in my town,
wanted me to have some procedure called a
cone biopsy (it's where they remove a cone
shaped chunk of the cervix - gross
sounding I know!) anyway when I went for a
2nd opinion, the boston doctor said she
would never perform the cone biopsy
procedure on a girl my age (i was 27 at
the time) b/c it would be difficult to
conceive. She said the leep procedure is
the least invasive - she described it to
me at taking a string and running it over
the top of a frosted cake, they are only
removing cervical cells (the frosting) not
any of the cervix (the cake). I hope this
helps and good luck!
