Questions Regarding 'radiolabelling '
Posted: 10-12-05 11:36am

I wonder if anyone could tell me if taking part in a 'radiolabelled' study is dangerous in the long term to human health? The reason I ask is that have been invited to take part in a medical study in the near future( developing anti nausea drugs for cancer patients) but im slightly concerned about the safety of taking an injection and oral solution containing a radioactive component( to enable the clinic to track the drug) because of the 'radioactive ' element of this whole thing. Has anyone here had one of these injections before , or does anyone know of any reasons why I shouldnt take this study before I go ahead? I just wondered if there was any risk of contracting luekeamia or some other cancer from this, or if the levels of radiation involved are minor? Any advice or information would be very gratefully recieved.
