Ok I am due to get the first half of my brace on monday but the thing is I have a major phobia of going to the dentist, and am not a big fan of pain.
All I want to know is :
1)is it going to hurt
and
2)does anyone else have a phobia of going to the dentist?

Thanx!

Just recently had mine put on back in april. Getting them on doesn't hurt, for the most part, it's later that hurts the dickens! Plus mine took like 3 hours to get put on. Not trying to scare you. Just trying to tell it like it is. Plus I had jacked up teeth so that may have added to my torment. Who knows? Hope this doesn't scare you 'cuz they really are worth it.

Well it wasnt that bad! They put that clear plastic thing in my mouth, and then started to put the elastic bands on which actually hurt a lot towards the end. They then put on the glue for the brackets which tasted absolutely disgusting<--- one of the worst things I have ever tasted.
When they had finished I was a tad bit depressed because I thought it looked absolutely awful (althoug I am getting used to it now).

After all that I went back to my nans, and was eating fine 3 hours after I had it done (well with a bit of difficulty!) it did start to rub quite a bit and the elastic bands still hurt (its saturday now), so I ended up with two ulcers in my cheeks.
But now its ok! Not looking forward to tuesday though because thats when I get the wires put in! I should be ok though (i hope!)

I don't understand! "oh no I am going the dentist, ohh help the worlds gonna end", it's really funny the way a lot of people fear the dentist, like from a horror movie.
