Phycosis/schizophrenia Help Doc Am I Going Though Phycosis Posted: 10-11-05 22:58pm
How do you tell if it's just phycosis or
schizophrenia. I'm confused.
I'm needing help, i'm 23 years old
diagnosed with bipolar disorder,and have
been having phycosis symptoms. Could
it just be that i'm bipolar with
phycotic(phycosis) symptoms.
I hear voices, that repeat over and over
like a broken record or kept telling
things I need to do like fix my truck, or
comanding me to do things like kick the
truck. I hear my name over and over. I
have songs play over and over in my head
also, I hear music playing when it's
not.
I see hallucinations like firecrackers at
night some times during the day like
tracers the colors are red,purple,and
blue. I have catatonic movements some
times I can sit in a chair and just stare
at wall for hour apon hours. I've lost
lots of my motovation last job I had was
back in high school. I mostly wake up
and watch tv,and do nothing around the
house. There's a few time I went almost
a week with out showering. I have
agitation, i'm shy and not that social I
don't really speak to people beside
friends,family, and my p-doctar and
therapist. If I do I don't say much it
just hi how is your day, etc etc. I lost
the abilaty(sp?) to make friends, even
though I still have friends. I know how
to make friend I just have a hard time go
up and talk to people to make friends.
I've slept on one of my dogs pillow beds,
sometimes I have insomina where I can
sleep and had to go out to the truck to be
able to sleep. I start conversation with
my self, and sometimes it feels like people
are in the room when there not. :?
Help me out doctor and people with
schizophrenia is this how schizophrenia
feels ? Edit: I also can have weird
mood swings I can be happy in the morning,
then sad and crying at night, then a hour
later be giggling up a storm and jumping
up and down stomping the ground, I also
have a weird laugh that scares people.
They say it makes me sound like a mad man,
I also do weird funny carton voices, and
some times feel like i'm on the truman
show.
I've never done lsd,or any time of street
drugs. I don't smoke, and I don't drink.
But have had beer before. Last time I
drank was like 8 months ago.
Yes I have a doctor and a therapist, yes
i'm on medication. I take 3 depakote
pills (250mg x3/750mg) at night.
Thanks joe

Psychosis is a symptom not an illness.
If it persist past 6 month, doctors will
consider it as an illness. They will
conclude you have schizophrenia. That's
what happened to me. I think it is to
early to say. I think one full year is
more like it. I'm not convince.
