Q: Ovulation, Really Confused On That.

Ok, i'm really confused about this ovulation deal. I thought that ovulation takes place during the during the time that you get your period? But, what i'm reading is that you ovulate 14 days before and after your period? The reason why I ask is because my last period was on 9/15/05 and me and my boyfriend had sex around the second day of my period and he came in me and I have not gotton my period, we've been stressing because I think I might be pregnant, but I have no morning sickness or symptoms other than no period. My cycle usually runs about 24-25 days and varies from month to month. I don't even have menstrual/pms cramps? I'm not sure what's going on. Should I take a home test? Can someone explain the ovulation process to me. Should I be worried?

Sorry message is long, but i'm really confused.

Hey hun,
ok first off ovulation happens about 14 days or so after the first day of your last period. The 14 days varies from person to person because each persons cycle differs. Second, the chances of you getting pregnant during your period are slim, but there is a chance. To take a hpt my general rule of thumb is wait 17 days after the day you though you concieved or wait until your missed period(i would wait at least a week after the first missed day of your period just in case stress or some other factor threw it off)

for an online pregnancy assesment try this website:

also, if you want to find out when you ovulate I use this website. It tells you when you are supposed to ovulate, when you are fertile, and when you are supposed to get your period. My boyfriend and I are ttc, I really enjoy this site, and find it really helpful.

Ovulation happens about 14 days before your next period. So if your cycles are usually 24-25 days long, you should usually ovulate around day 10 or 11 with first day of your period being day 1. So, you had sex on day 2 of your cycle. You are probably not pregnant, but weirder things have happened. You are prolly due for your period at the end of the week, right? I wouldn't give it another though until at least the middle of next week. Remember, stress can make your period be late which will only add to your stress which will make it even more late...You get my drift. If your period still hasn't come by next wednesday, take a test. By the way, please avoid alcohol until you get your period...Just to be on the safe side.

Good luck,

leslie
