Hello there,

i am new here.

I have a 10 year old son who is autistic and is on a combined dose of prozac and risperidone to help with anxiety and panic attacks.

He is presently on 1.5mls of prozac and 1.75mls of risperidone a day. This has been beneficial but the effects have started to wear off. We are due to see our doctor with a view to increasing the dose of risperidone as he has been on more than this in the past.

Is there anyone else who has a child on risperidone and, if so, what sort of dose are they on and how old is your child, we wondered what would be considered the max dose for a young child.

Also are there any children who have been on this medication long term and look likely to be staying on it. We had hoped that our son could come off the medication eventually but this is looking less and less likely.

Any advice and thoughts appreciated.

Thanks
