Hi, I am sorry you are not feeling well. 15 is a hard age as it is and when you feel bad, well it just isn't much fun. First I hope you have talked about this with your mom and dad. You may need to see a doctor.
I was the same way when I was your age. Didn't matter what I ate, had good days, bad days. Same as you. If you are having problems going to the bathroom, try eating more fiber. You can find that in raisin bran, fruit, bananas are very good for you. You just might not be eating the right things. Try to drink more water than pop. It can also be nerves and stress. Try to get some kind of excercise, even if it is dancing or running, whatever you like to do that gets you moving. Your body is doing some big time changing, you have to put good things into it to keep it feeling good. Hope you feel better.

My doctor told me that apples and bannanas constipate you more, I am 14 and have had similar problems as you.

It really ticks me off cause I just got in to high school and my stomach problems are holding me back.

I am very scared about appendicitis and surgery, so I am a health freak.

I am pretty much scared out of my pants, iv went to the doctor twice, told me to get more fiber. Pfft, that was the least of it, since the doctors, I have increased my fiber and water intake, nothing has changed.

So , I guess im in the hands on god or somethin, im really confused on what I should do.

Please help me too!

Hi, sorry you are not feeling well. Would it help to tell you that you can fix this? The first thing to do is to relax. Why are you concerened about appendicitis? The odds of it happening to you are small, besides there isnt anything you can do to stop it. I know I can tell you not to be scared of surgery, but everyone is untill they have something done. Then you would see it is not a really big deal. The thought of it is worse than it is. Do you know you can make yourself feel worse just by worring? You need to listen to your body, but not work yourself up about it. I would be interested in what you do eat. If you have too much fiber, that can cause problems too, such as bloating, gas. Try to get 30 grams a day. Rasin brain is great, they also have a bar form. Are you drinking pop? If so stay away from diet and limit yourself to 1 per day. Your body needs water in able to go to the bathroom. Make sure you drink a few glasses a day. Excersise is important to. You need to move your bowls and it also takes care of stress. Let me know how you do. Life gets better, promise

Sleep is very important, especailly when you are young. 7-10 hours is great, but everyone is different (i get about 4 or 5 ) if you wake up on the weekends, around the same time you do during the week, then you know you are getting enough sleep.
When I read your email, you sounded so much like me at your age. I worried about everything,, are you like that too? I think a lot of my stomach problems are from being like that. In fact, I know that is the probelm. We can make ourself sick. Trust me, if you can limit the junk food, limit the pop, you dont have to never have it, just dont live off it. Get some excercise, dont smoke, drink water and eat some fiber, you are doing all you can do. If you worry a lot about stuff, just know that everyone does, everyone feels just like you do. Haveing a positive attitude also helps. Remember there is only one you, make sure you tell yourself everyday that you are great. No one feels bad when they are happy. Let me know how you are.

Thank you so much, I feel sick to my stomach sometimes, its just weird.
Last night I got about 9 hours, and today I felt alot better. I only have 1 can of pop a week, and dont eat to much junk food. I play soccer lots , and I also take vitamens every day at dinner. And I eat lots of green stuff like vedgies and stuff.

Usually if I get scared about somethin the only stuff I will eat is just like the green vedgies and water.
Also, recently I noticed after I sit for a while, and I know this sounds wierd and stupid saying, but my left buttox cheek seems to like gurgle, like vibrate when your stomach is growlin. I know that seems really wierd and gross but it just started to happen recently.

Thank you so much!
You are the best -
ev

Hi, I have to say, for a 14 year old I am impressed. I wish my neices and nepfews where more like you. Good for you for taking such great care of yourself.
The vibrateing feeling you asked about (i have felt that before) could be gas from too much fiber or something your ate. The body is an incredible machine, it knows what is doing and at your age things are going on all the time and if you are a girl, even more. Since there is really nothing in that area, nothing that would hurt you, I wouldnt be too concerened with that. Try walking around when that happens. Sometimes just by doing that, it may help. The only other thing is that it could be your nerves or muscles just tightening up, again that isnt anything to worry about. Things to look out for would be, blood when you go to the bathroom (you would know if it happens) throwing up after you eat, thats the kind of stuff that you would need to tell your mom and dad. But guess what? If that happens, that too can be fixed.

What I am trying to tell you is that if there was something horribly wrong with you, like you said before, appendicitis or something else, you will know. So relax about that kind of stuff. I am sorry you dont feel good, I cant think of too many things that are worst than stomach problems. Is it that you dont feel good everyday or just once in a while? What is it that you are feeling? The gurgling you wrote about is your tummy processing the food you ate, if you do eat a lot of leafy veggies, they take time to break down and go threw your system. It is all mixing things up in there, kind of like a washing machine. Unless of course you have not eaten in a while. When that happens, take a few deep breaths, ,try not to chew gum, not only does it hurt your teeth (i work at a dental office) but it also puts air in your stomach.
Are you excited about christmas? I cant wait to see what my husband bought me. If you want to email me, just put ev in the subject line. If you dont want too thats ok. Merry christmas!! Helen

Hey There.
Hi there. Research ibs online---and see the treatment for it---your symptoms seem to outline some of ibs symptoms.

I'd say get checked out for food intolerances and celiac disease. Perhaps try a gluten-free diet.

Also, as to the person who said you would know if you had appendicitis, I don't believe that is necessarily true, from the stories I've heard.
