I have a question for those of you who
have any type of anxiety disorder along
with hypertension. My doctor and I have a
very open relationship and she has given
me several drug therapy options to deal
with the anxiety/hypertension. One of the
options is to take just an anti-anxiety
medication (either xanax, valium, ativan,
etc) and see if that helps with the
hypertension.
I was wondering to those of you who take
any of the above mentioned drugs (not
ssris--zoloft, paxil, prozac, etc.) for
anxiety--if you had high blood pressure,
did the medication help lower your blood
pressure once you started taking it? My
doctor and I both feel that my
hypertension is a result of anxiety, but I
wanted to find out if anyone out there has
been able to lower their blood pressure as
a result of lowering their anxiety level
through medication. Thanks so much!
