Hi.

I am 19 year old - undergradutea. Everyday my life is filled with depression, guilt and stress because of my addiction - porn! I download porn everyday and doing what a porn addict do. Even when I am typing this, I am still downloading it. Damn... I really want to get rid of it. I am so stressed... I want to get rid of my porn and at the same time depressed bcos I dont have a gf. Its so hard to get rid of porn... I know that its just a matter of deleting it, but the craving is always there. I feel ashamed of my addiction... I don't know what to do... I am lost!

I really need help! Thanks!

I take it your not just looking at the porn, so your addiction is probably not to porn, but to sex/masturbation. This is nothing to be ashamed about, in fact, this type of addiction affects more people than you would think. It is becoming more recognized as a serious and legitimate addiction. If you want to read more about sex addiction read about sex and masturbation addiction. I would suggest self reflecting as to why you don’t have a girlfriend. What could you do to get a girlfriend? In many cases porn/masturbation addiction has a lot to do with self esteem.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me.

Thanks Brother
Thanks for your reply.

Actually, I found myself to be too much anti-social after the addiction.

And perhaps its true that my addiction doesnt have anything to do with finding a girlfriend. I guess I am just hopeless :d

thanks.

Heres what you do right...

Goto the gym and work out. Buy a bunch of new flashy clothes, like right now I think denim jeans and t-shirt with funny stuff wrote on them is in right now. So go get you a few of those and some boots, I wear polo boots personaly but its whatever. Girls are easy to find even for anti-social people!

Hint: start small the younger they are the lower their self esteem is.

I think 18 is the general age range. Most girls want guys that resemble something like the ones on tv not the ones who invented it!

Ok I think I need to stop posting now haha. But that first paragraph should work.

Don't be ashamed of yourself. I, personally, think that this "addiction" you speak of is not an addiction to porn, but it is an addiction to sexuality. This is normal. If you can't have sex with a partner that you are married to, masturbation is by far healthier than getting involved in all this pre-maritial sex going on at teen parties, and 5 months later taking your girlfriend to a homicide clinic to have the baby slaughtered by an abortion doctor.

Stick with life, and things will start going your way. I'm 20 years old, go to a mostly all-men college (devry university), and because the fact that there is only 1 female in each class of 30, am obviously single. However, I am still quite comfortable with my sexuality.

Enjoy being single while you have it, because once you get married, you will have alot more responsibilities (financially, moraly, and socially).

Dude, you're only 19. Don't worry about having a relationship just yet - focus on more important things like getting a good education.

Check to see if there is a sexaholics anonymous in a church or school nearby. It's similar to every other addiction.
I'm a woman and I don't understand that adiction but I do understand addiction. I"m an alcoholic (12 days sober). Keep in mind that you are not a terrible person because of your addiction, the addiction is what has you, you're being held captive.
Check out the 12 steps of aa and replace the word drink with the word porn.
Ie
1. I admit that I am powerless over porn -- my life has become unmanageabl
there are actually only 2 references to alcohol in the 12 steps.
It may be embarassing but worth it.
My husband is addicted to porn, it is humiliating and depressing to him.
He says he remembers when he had no friends in college and was too afraid to talk to girls and would sit at home whenever he had a spair moment, looking at porn on the internet. He said he felt totally alone and pathetic.
But he was not completely alone, he had his faimly and now he has me. This addiction need not ruin your life. I love my husband very much and sympathize with him and with you.
I'm here if you need me, though i'm sure it'd be more benificial to talk to a man who understands it.
God bless
