I am totally honest when I tell you to
read allen carr's easy way to quit
smoking. Just substitute references to
tabbaco with mariujana and you should be
able to kick the addiction.
This is totally honest, and not a spam or
sales pitch.

I must say that from reading alot of your
posts, I can tell that alot of you have
never really been addicted to weed.
Everyones saying that weed is harmless but
its not. Take me for example, i've been
smoking all day everyday for the past 7
years and now i'm to the point where I
have very weak short term memory not to
mention weed is just ruining my life
period. I can't get a good job cause of
all the damn thc in my system, the
army!!!! Won't even accept me and you
know they'lll take anybody. My personal
life is falling apart all together, my
family treat me as if I was smokin crack.
Bottom line, weed is a major obsticle for
anyone who wishes to have a successful
life.

ummm not really. It all depends on the
person. I've smoke daily for about 10
yrs (other than when I was pregnant) I
got a degree in business administration
with honors and have a great well paying
job. I excersice, I go out, I do a ton
of stuff with my son. So it all depends.
Most pot heads are .N.O.T like me though
i've found out.

yeah, you're right, the majority of pot

i'm a dumb guy cause i'm not, I present
myself very well to jobs and often get
call in to interviews for well paying jobs
but its the piss tests and I can't seem to
quit weed in order to pass a piss test.
What I was really trying to say in my
first post is that I could be alot better
off in life if I didn't smoke weed cause
thats the only thing stopping me from
having a successful life.

Well I see alot of people have the same
problem i have. And some just repeat what
they see in high school health class. I
have been smoking pot for about 6 years,
and the last 3 years i have been smoking
every day a couple of times a day. I dont
know what to do. I have tried everything
to quit. I am in school studying
psychology have 3 years behind me and 3
more coming. I have a 3.6 g.p.a so i guess
im book smarts. I also work part time. So
i keep pretty busy. Last 6 months ive been
going to the gym. Yet i still smoke pot it
seems more now then ever. Every night i go
to sleep telling myself thats it tomorrow
is the day i will not smoke. And what
happens i smoke up 3-4 times again. I
really dont know what to do. Whatever i
try doesnt work. I have an idea i dont
know if it will work> Does any1 want to
try to quit together. Meaning strictly
through email. Sort of like a pen pal but
trying to support each other through
mail(email). Now i will never ask to meet
with you cause there is no way in hell im
meeting up with someone from the internet
lol. Please help guys with replys or
replys to the whole email support thing.
Try smoking ciggeretes.. I
know ciggereets are bad but it will help
you stop smoking budd
Nice idea. Let's all quit drinking by
using heroin. Just when you think you've
heard it all...

"Proofread". That means to read what you
just wrote and make the proper changes.
You may need a dictionary to help with
this. You will also find a button at the
bottom which reads "SpellCheck."

This is by far the singlemost worthless
scrap of advice I have ever read. Let's
look at some facts. Marijuana can be
psychologically addicting because people
enjoy the feeling that it gives. If other
things aren't going so well, one may begin
to feel like this is the only way life can
be enjoyed. Also, it can become a habit-a
way to end one's day or what someone does
with friends. Cigarettes, on the other
hand have added substances in them which
cause them to be physically as well as
psychologically addictive. Cigarettes
have been rumored to be more addictive
than heroin. You can be sure this is not
an accidental phenomena.
I think that marijuana gets a bad
reputation at times. There are some very
helpful attributes of marijuana. There
are also people who over use or abuse
it-just like anything else. Some people
drink six cans of mountain dew per day,
which is probably more harmful to your
health than the marijuana.
Some people have a personality type which
lends them to be prone to addiction.
These are the people who can't stop if
they want to. I would hazard a guess that
this is why some people have a hard tome
with marijuana. I do not believe it is
the drug itself, it is the user which
causes the complications.
There have been some very helpful bits of
advice posted here regarding this. The
poster who suggested trying to space out
use and removing yourself from the social
situations where use is common has very
good ideas. If you go to addiction
counseling, please know that they treat
weed like every other drug, but I do not
think that it is. People like to demonize
marijuana and refuse to look at the
helpful attributes it possesses.
Remember-most things are OK in moderation.
When moderation is impossible, then you
know you have a problem.

Hi, im 17, i smoke weed the first time
like when i was 15, the last year i took
it more serious. this year i smoked almost
everyday a big blunt, sometimes alone but
very often with my cousin or with
friends.
Like two weeks ago my cousin came and we
both smoked a joint with a bong, my mom
was working but my aunt told her she
smelled something weird, so my mom came to
my house. That day i was busted and i had
to stop.
Now i have 2 weeks without smoking weed,
its been a little hard, but when i have
free time the only thing i think is
smokin, i dont want to do it anymore cause
now i feel that if i do it im betraying my
parents. Should i stop until im 18? or
should i quit forever?, or should i keep
doing it, cause it never was a problem in
school, and nobody ever found out, just my
parents that time

Addiction to Maijuana Posted: 05-30-07 15:57pm
THC is the psychoactive ingredient in pot.
THC is not physically addictive. You seem
to have an addictive personality. You can
try going to NA (narcotics anonymous), but
you'll probably not be taken seriously.
You'd be among people who are addicted to
actual drugs. With a personality like
yours I'd stay away from coffee and
tobaco, both of which contain real drugs.
I have no great amount of self control yet
stopped smoking pot quite easily after
some 39 years of regular use. You've been
brain washed into believing that pot is an
actual drug. The danger here is not pot,
but the difficulty with which you found
yourself quitting. Stay away from alcohol
as well. You are a drug addict/alcoholic
waiting to happen.

Marijuana is absolutely
destructive if used excessively! Take my
word on this people. It may not
physically kill you like cocaine or
heroin, but it will slowly take away
everything you have emotionally and
mentally!!! ...Anything in excess is
potentially lethal, and when you get used
to something all the time, you expect that
feeling all the time, it becomes the norm.
... Most who are seeking to quit here
are longtime and heavy users...Its an
extremely difficult task...Mainly because
you don't know what to do with the time
you now have on your hands...The time you
usually spend high... Now time is moving
at a snail's pace...What to
do???
My bf has been smoking pipes in excess for
over 10 yrs. He's addicted (in my humble
opinion)! When I ask him why he does it,
he says he likes it to relieve boredom, to
pass the time, to concentrate on details,
and to relieve stress, not to mention the
general high feeling it gives him. I am
not a smoker so it is v hard for me to
relate. I kinda see it as unnecessary
escapism that does u a lot more harm than
good in the end! All I see is the effects
it has on him-- it changes him (&
therefore how we relate)-- the red &
slitty eyes, the slurred words and the
general laziness. It really upsets me to
see how dependent he is on it! He can go
weeks without gettin anything done--
except maybe completing a few video games!
I've asked him to cut down for both our
sakes. He tells me that he wants to do
this, and he's also talked about quitting
altogether for our future together BUT...
he just can't do it! All his friends
smoke. He gets it cheap as chips from a
mate. He doesn't know wot can/will replace
it & he's probably afraid of what it
takes to get off it properly! It's a
vicious circle! I want to help but I've
got no idea where to start.
He's tried goin cold turkey- which he
managed for about 3 months til the
after-effects just got too much for him to
bear! When he was off it he didn't
socialise with his mates, he felt really
stressed a lot of the time- which his body
kept telling him in different ways, and he
got really emotional about the smallest
thing! Altogether he felt awful! I'd
equate it to having PMT permanently!
So it's no wonder
he went back to it. BUT... now what? How
can he ever quit? & wot can I do to
tolerate it & help him in the
meantime?

You need some serious professional help,
my 2 cents anyway. There are people out
here who care. Where's Dr.Phil when you
need him? Have you tried to get help?

yes I figured thats what normal people
would say.. exactly the reason I spilled
it to the internet and no one else.. cuz
no one wants to hear your problems they
want to be with happy people.. everyone
has their own problems and they don't want
to hear about yours too.. ya know? anyway
I don't really know who to go to both of
my parents know about all of my issues yet
they ignore them and think I will fix
myself in time... or just don't have the
time to deal with the problems.. I don't
really dont know what to do I haven't
smoked all day today and i almost didn't
smoke all day yesterday til my friend came
over and said she was just going to smoke
in front of me if I wasn't going to and I
gave in and I feel like giving in again
now.. my best friend has been telling me
he is going to end it for 4 days now and
I've hardly slept or eaten and its really
stressing me out I've already lost two
friends this summer.. AHH
I just need someone to talk to I think
I've been thinking it over in my head and
I think I'm going to take baby steps to
reaching all of my goals..
first I'll quit weed.. HOPEFULLY ahhh soo
hard I want to smoke so badly right now..
err
my best friend was supposed to be quitting
with me but when I brought him balloons
today to cheer him up he was like I'm so
stoned right now and then it just felt a
million times harder to do it alone..
I'll replace it with working out everyday
and then start to work on my diet when I'm
healthy and feel as though I haven't over
eaten and have burned more calories than
gained I am okay.. actually the weird
thing is adderall sort of cured my bulimia
for some time cuz I could never eat too
much to feel as though I needed to expell
the food to be comfortable and not gain
weight
what do you think can anyone help me

Freinds Posted: 06-27-07 08:53am
A freind who knows that you're quitting
won't come around and tempt you . Freinds
stand behind you in all you do. In AA we
say ,change your playground, change your
toys and change your playmates. Gain
weight, you're probably underweight. When
you've reached a good healthy weight match
your intake of calories to the amount you
burn. Calories are fuel. If each day we
use more gas in our cars than we replace,
what happens? Car dies. Problem may be
that when you look in the mirror you see a
different person than others do. While you
see fat others see skinny. Eat and enjoy
it. Don't feel guilty and don't purge. All
these things should be dealt with on a
professional level. Above all, don't be so
afraid of gaining weight. And find freinds
who really care about you.

Adderall Posted: 06-27-07 10:02am

One of the side effects of Adderall is
loss of apetite. It is prescribed for
attention and hyperactivity disorders.
Sounds to me that it is counterindicated
for a person with an eating disorder such
as yours, but that's for you and your
doctor to work out. Not being a doctor, I
have no right to tell you what to take.
But I do know that food is a good thing. I
love to eat and am not overweight. Try NA
for the pot and you'll probably find some
girls to hang out with. Some who really
care about you. The real you, not the one
you you're turning yourself into. Stop and
think. Life shouldn't be so hard in the
best years of your life.
