I am 23yrs old and have just found out the cause for my functional heart murmer is pda. This is normally found in infants and treated at a young age. My doctor states that it is found in 5-10% of the population and I don't need to worry about it. The more I read about it the more I become concerned that it will cause me problems down the road. Should I see a cardiologist. Is there anything besides surgery that I can do to help my situation. Am I at risk for future heart problems?

Thank you
