Clicking sound in head
The clicking that I have in my head began 2 1/2 years ago. It is around my temples and I only hear it if I turn my head, talk or sip coffee. There is no pain, just sounds like a soft click. Since I am also suffering from B6 toxicity and recovering, one dr told me that it could be related to the toxicity and called it hypersenitivity parathesias(abnormal nerve conduction). I also have popping, snapping and cracking of my joints that started around the same time. It is so annoying. Anyone else have this problem. Let me hear from you. Thank you.

I used to have this clicking noise whenever I ran near the front right of my head. This part isn't that nice - but I was leaning over in an awkward position tying my shoelaces up a couple of months ago and all this wierd fluid came out of my nose from my sinus that was a yellowy colour. Since that came out, there's been no clicking noise?

I found a couple of things on the internet to clear your sinus' below, I don't know if they work at all or not though, hope this helps.

* Inhale steam 2-4 times per day by leaning over a bowl of boiling hot water or using a steam vaporizer with a towel over the head and bowl to prevent the escape of the steam. Do not use any mentholated balm or oils in the water.
* Get plenty of rest. Do not lie down it will make your sinuses feel more stopped-up, so try lying on the side that lets you breathe the best.
* Sleeping with your head elevated will encourage drainage during the night.

Ticking noise in head/neck
Hi you all!

Just wanted to let you know that you aren't alone as you can see obviously.

I suffer from anxiety disorder and just in the past couple of months I've developed this ticking noise too. I had an xray done and the doctor thinks that it's arthritis (I'm only 36). First it was shoulders in my 20s where I developed tendinitis, next my knees started this cracking/grinding and now it's my neck making the ticking noise. It will do it when I turn my head or when I'm sitting still sometimes. It sends my anxiety and panic disorder into a full-fledged downward spiral!

If and when you all see a doctor, please come back and post the findings. It could save others money if they can remedy the problem themselves and it can also calm nerves of others that are worried.

Cheers!

Relay ticking in my head
Hi Guys, This is weird. For the last year I have been getting ticking noises in my head. The tick tick tick can come on at any time with me. There is absolutely no pattern to when it appears and no pattern to the noise. This ticking is quite loud but never seems to get any louder. It appears to have a pattern at times yet at other times the ticks appear to be random and can fluctuated between fast tics broken up with slow tics. It is happening to me now and I am just sitting at my PC. No tilting of the head or any physical activity seems to affect it. It seems to originate from the left hand side of my head above the left ear but towards the top of my head. Although I can hear it quite loudly it does not seem to be as annoying as tinnitus is to tinnitus sufferers. I just try and ignore it until it goes.
I was worried about it at first as I have heard similar noises before when I worked in a telephone exchange. When the exchanges were changed to digital exchanges they became very quiet and you could hear the sound of the small electronic relays ticking. This is very similar to what I am hearing now. I did wonder if what I was hearing was as a result of all the mobile masts that have gone up recently. I know this is a bit farfetched but because the ticking is so much like what I was hearing in the telephone exchange I did wonder. Anyway I just wait for it to go as It doesnt cause me any problem except for been a little annoying.

This is very reasurring!

I have noticed a ticking inside the right hand side above the temple of my head, very annoying! (Noticed yesterday)

I too worried about tumors, strokes, clots etc but it does settle my imagination that it is not just me.

The person who mentioned above about their blocked sinuses is a point not to be missed. I have problems with my sinuses currently and I think they could be linked for some of us

weird clicking noise
omg, I'm 20 now, i began to experience the same clicking sound when i got drunk one time fell, and hit my head. I don't usually hear it when am up and walking, but it comes as soon as i lay down to sleep, and sometimes it's so irritating that i can't fall asleep, there is no other symptoms though. Reading your comments i can see that I'm not the only one experiencing this, so that had calm me down a little bit, thank u everybody! p.s. i have had the same thing 04dodwello, had, once when some weird yellow fluid came out of my nose, but that was before i started experiencing the clicking noise so i just ignored it.

Click, Click, Click..what the heck is it!!
Well, I'm sort of relieved that I'm not the only one that's experiencing this "clicking". It "does" sound like 2 fingernails clicking together. I noticed that I can't really pinpoint exactly where this annoying sound is comming from, except somewhere inside the right of my head that started about 2 wks ago. I too think it may have something to do with the sinus, only because I've had sinus problems for the past couple of years. I asked a dr about it and she said that it may be early signs of hearing loss due to age. Now, I see that she didn't know what she was talking about since this is happening to all ages. So, if "anyone" at all can help with some answers it would be "really" helpful. I would love to be able to have a decent nights sleep.

Clicking in head
I'm 14, and I play a lot of soccer and go running. I notice this clicking that sounds like a spray paint can being shaken. It is very subtle but drives me crazy. It's kind of like a tick tick... Tick tick... Tick tick when I'm bouncing. only happens when running at a jogging pace, but goes away when sprinting
It helps a bit to clench my jaw but it seems to only be temporary help.
About a month ago I was hit in the head and had an eye concussion, and I'm pretty sure I also got a mild concussion but I have no idea if that has anything to do with it.
I don't experience many headaches, but when I do, the headaches go away with ibuprofen
Any help?

Clicking/Crunching of the neck
Don't know if this is relevant but when I roll my head from right-high to left high it clicks but its almost like a crunch. Some smaller clicks and almost like tightening movements if that sounds right happens after. Just wondering if this is normal(don't think it is,sorry about the sarcasm) and is it serious ?

I have the clicking in my head just to the left of my neck. I've had this problem for almost four years now (not constant, just every once in a while). It has just come back after a long period of not having it, and it's kind of giving me a headache. It clicks when I lay down and night and every time I turn my head.

I have a click in my head when i turn my head left. It does not hurt just annoying and is also sending my anxiety thru the roof. Reading your comments make me feel so much better. Has anyone been to a chiropractor? I am going for an xray and adjustments next week I'll let you know how it goes. I too about 8 months ago experienced clicking when I ran but that went away.

tick tick tick noise in head
I have been having the tick tick tick, noise for a while...the doctor thought it was medication they put me on, so we chancged meds...However, the noise is back...it is on my left side of my head towards the top(across from my eye brow), however, I get dizziness, confusion, blur vision and headaches with it. I do have neck and shoulder stiffness. When I stretch my neck it crack and sounds like celery. The doctor feels right now I have too much seratonin (sp) in my blood stream from my meds.So she stopped 2 meds for a few days. My doctor has not run an MRI, I think I will ask for one to be run on my head and neck area. I thought I was crazy....thanks for sharing.

i have the same clicking noise. sometimes it is near my ear or in the back of my head. i use to get it all the time as a little kid and it came back when i got a head cold. i find it extremely annoying so i listen to my music to subside the noise. but i usually only hear when i focus on it or if i am in a quiet environment.
