Lots of "I have that too" but nobody has found a remedy or a doctor that can prescribe effective treatment? That's scary.

So pleased to read all these posts.

I seem to have the whole gambit of head clicks.

There is a very loud, very disconcerting one at the bottom of my head/top of neck that I can create by aggressively jutting out my chin. There will be a very loud click, quite deep click (sometimes more of a clunk) and some tension will be releasd for a while. I will not be able to reclick in that way for a few hours (though seems to be decreasing to minutes).

I also have a click above my right ear which happens only when I nod, but pretty much every time I nod.

And sometimes I get the spray paint can thing going on at the back of my head. Often when walking or moving it slightly. I tend to say it is like sand in a hulahoop. Only people tend to think I'm nuts.

I'd be really grateful if anyone has ever learnt any more about this - like other users, was happy to stumble across this thread, there seems very little out there on this rather odd "condition".

I'm 30, and would quite like to get rid of any or ideally all of these clicks.

clicking in head
I've had the exact same clicking. The first time was the day after my first experience with hallucinogenics when I was 13. It eventually went away until I tried LSD for my first time at 26 just before the effects kicked in I felt and heard the same clicking I ude to experience walking as a kid. But this time I was sitting still and it was multiple clicks in a row like popping a back or knuckles. I then experienced the effects of the drug. I've been curious if this was related to the pineal gland that regulates (DMT)

I have read through a lot of the post trying to find one like mine. The problem that I have is on and off for years the clicking has come and gone and will last for days. Mine is as if iMy head is taking pictures as I turn it. Like snap shots as I am turning. It went away for a long time and now has returned. I feel as though I am walking in clouds or above the ground. Does anyone have this type if sensation?

clicking sound? the cure is as simple as drinking more water
I know exactly what all you are feeling. It took me 2 years to figure out what stops it- SERIOUS HYDRATION . no kidding, drink nearly a gallon of water a day and it will disappear. Cant believe no one else has figured out this easy fix. Hope this helps!

Thanks a lot to you all for these posts. I have been having the exact same thing, it's only started few weeks ago. However, I could not describe the clicking sound as well as you guys did. May someone please tell me if there is any chance that it stops or is there anybody who went for a MRI scan to confirm that there was nothing, please I'm still a bit worried. Thank you.

head clicking
My names sophie and I'm 14, I've been getting it for ages, and whenever I'd tell my parents that somethings wrong they would ask me what does it feel like, but I can't really explain it.. Its hard. I don't know where its coming from, either towards the back of my head or by the ears or back of neck/head.. It sounds like a squelching clicking noise which I only hear when I'm silent, going to sleep. Its irritating and Its hard to get to sleep! Its whenever I move my head and its just constantly coming and going. Should I be worried? Is something wrong with me?

This is so strange, I have exactly the same!! A tiny clicking that happens when walking on every down-step. And I thought it was my zip clicking against my coat as well! And it's so reassuring to read this because I was thinking all the tumour stuff as well! I've read it could be to do with ear-wax building up which makes sense for me because i often get blocked ears. What a strange phenomenon...should go to doctor's but it seems ridiculous telling them you have a 'click in your head'.

I have the same problem of hearing sound in my head for last few months. the doctor removed the wax in my ear. but still it keeps on hearing in top of the head. and some times i do have slight pain in my head. Thinking whether i will die soon. in this page i have seen only the problems and not a solution for us who try to save our life... do help us... or help the doctors to study about us

I am a 16 year old male with the same symptom. A faint ticking noise on the right said of my head is constantly going on. Reading the forum someone said that it was a build up of mucus and your pulse to be causing a ticking noise. So i went into a quiet room and began to listen quietly, then i noticed my heart beat and the tick was in sync, so I am not worried and will wait to see if the ticking stops come tomorrow.

Click click click click..
I get this clicking as well, but it never happens at any particular time. It can happen while I'm sitting/relaxing, while I'm running or while jumping. It's strange to me that everyone else says it's put on by running or jumping because mine happens while sitting still. It's a repetitive clicking noise in the back of the base of my skull. It doesn't go away when I press on it. I haven't found out what it is, or what causes it. I also cannot stop it. Good luck to everyone, hope you figure out about your mystery clicking!

I have had this happening for years now and I am only 17. recently it happens whenever i walk or move my head at all and its like i can hear it and feel it at the same time. For me it is in the very centre of my head, not near the surface or anything and I have noticed that its changed from when i was a lot younger. It used to be to the very back left of my head but its in the middle now. It kind of creeps me out a lot and makes me shiver from the thought of it.

I am not a doctor but I was diagnosed with Occipital Neuralgia. I get headaches located on my temples only. I have had a CT scan and it is normal. This condition is related to the c1 and c2 spinal discs where the occipital nerve runs up the side of the head. When this nerve is pinched or displaced it causes pain on the side of the head that the nerve is on. It is associated with poor posture and spinal misalignment. I never had this snapping sound until I got OC

Hey everybody, iv had the clicking sound in my head aswell for the past 3 years. It usually happens in my neck for no reason.I can usually hear it when I make a sudden jerk like moving my arms or when I'm swollowling. I also think it has to so with posture. my first thought about it was something to do with you neurologically. I have no info about it either. It might be possible it has to do with your neck alignment or spinal alignment. Or if it is your brain cells but I highly doubt that. I also have an effect where it sounds like there's fluid behind my ears from reading the forum i hope its just mucus not sure why that happens. Reason why I believe it has to do with brain cells is how much oxygen everyone gets an how much lung capacity we have. It started happening to me when I sat outside in the cold for 5 hours. I haven't told my doctor yet but hopefully this problem gets solved eventually.
