sinus
I agree with you on that, I get sinus headaches or regular headaches when I don't drink enough water. In fact, I woke up with sinus pain today and my first thought was that I haven't been drinking enough water. Didn't know that affected the clicking, though.

I have the same think too.I thought I was crazy...
I've been having a mild dull ache for a while but i thought it was psychological and sometimes I'd just forget about it and don't feel it for a while. Now , after a while without that pain I've been hearing this clicking in the middle center of the back of my head but only when I'm walking and it is really irritating.I can't think clearly and it annoys me.If anyone knows what it is, how to fix it and stop the clicking noise please write to. HELP PLEASE !!!

Me too!
It's amazing that we all seem to be afflicted with the same problem! I'm 15 and I've noticed it before, but mostly when I have not had enough sleep or If I'm walking or jogging, but especially during a combination of the two. It also happens mostly when I talk, but only when I'm talking to myself. I never notice it when talking to friends. Stress doesn't do it so much for me, it's more when I get excited, which some may say is a form of stress. I don't think it's really anything to worry about though. BTW I don't have any sinus problems that I'm aware of.

clicking in head
I have also recently started experiencing the same sensation, only when I walk during the day, and I also feel it when I am trying to fall asleep at night. It is a clicking that I can feel and hear on the right side of my head, a little off from the center. Other websites that I have looked through say it may be attributed to allergies, a sinus infection, or poorly healed cartilage from some sort of head injury? Any of these sound familiar to anyone? I don't think that any of them apply to me. I am so happy I found these posts to know that I am not crazy!

Same here guys....
Man, I really want to know what this is.

I don't know when I first notcied it, but it seems to happen to me at random times.
I'm 16...so i suppose it could be stress related somehow, but it reall bothers me that no one seems to know what exactly it is.
It is very annoying...but there is no pain associated with it, and nothing seems to make it go away.
The annoying click just comes and goes as it pleases.
But this is all nice to hear that i am not going insane...and that nothing is loose in my skull...well I hope not.

But this really bites. It's so annoying. It went away for a long time, but just decided to come back so i was concerned. I meant to google this a while ago, but I suppose i was afraid of what I might find out.

Anyways...I guess I will just keep googling and come back if I find anything new out.

today noticed it wen i wasnt even walking though felt like it was clicking wen i was moving my eyes so weird.

Clicking noise in my head
Yeah i guess i'll jump on the bandwagon and tell you about this inexplicable clicking i notice while i run. I am 16 years old and I've noticed an obnoxious tap in the center back of my head whenever i run/jog ever since i was 15. It scares me.... I think i should see my doctor considering the fact that I'm joining cross country. The click goes in tune with the way i jog =P

Clicking / squeaking in head
So glad I have found these. For the past 3 months (approx) have had this noise in my head while walking. It's really been bothering me. Have been to the Dr. and he wants to send me to an ear, nose, and throat specialist. Not sure if it inthose areas or in my neck. I can hear it just left of center in my head. If i walk a little different I can make it stop a little bit but only for a few steps then it comes right back. Doesnt hurt but is annoying and drives me crazy. Occasionaly feels like I get lightheaded, but only on rare occasions. Have also noticed when I turn my head i can hear small snaps or clicks in a similar spot where the noise is. Anyone having any answers to this would be greatly apprieciated.

Clicking in Skull
I am a 40 yr old woman and have experienced this clicking for 25 years, but it has become much worse recently. It sounds like there is something in there tapping on the back of the base of my skull. I thought maybe it was due to CSF (cerebrospinal fluid)pressure change or sinus fluid sloshing and hitting the back of my sinus, as I was diagnosed with fluid in my sinuses several years ago. I have fused vertebrae in my neck - could I have other malformations? It occurred usually when I was walking, but now it occurs any time of day. I am still investigating...I have lost my insurance due to job layoff so I cannot pursue further medical care.

don't forget to try a chiropractor. look for a reputable one in your area and they can adjust your skull. yes it is possible and doesn't hurt Smile

I have been trying to find out what these clicking sounds in my hear are. I have asked quite a few doctors but they were not sure as to what it is. However, they all suspect stress / anxiety or GAD to be the main reason. Whatever it is, it has to do with our muscles or tendons. When we are stressed or anxious they become harder or tense. I have noticed that I have never heard that clicking sound when I am relaxed ( I mean really relaxed). On the other hand, I've noticed that when I am stressed, tired, worried or upset and try to turn my head/neck left or right I hear that sound. So, I believe that it has to do with our muscles. Tumors do not just create a small clicking sound. They are painful and often lead to other more severe symptoms. So, ket's relax and see what happens!

I'm not sure this applies to everyone's situation but I started taking Claritin, actually an allergy relief generic brand, but anyway it contains 10 mg of loratadine and seems to do the trick for a long while, at least long enough to let me sleep. I get it when I'm not doing anything, laying down for example and it gets worse at night along with my allergies, so I assume it is some inflammed tissues clicking around in there with mucus. Used to drive me absolutely batty and most of the fools in the health profession just assumed I was mental.

Steve, that's what they ALWAYS assume when they don't understand what's going on. God forbid they try to learn something new!! Sometimes we just have to search for the right doctor, and unfortunately, sometimes that takes a very long time. Glad the Claritin is working for you.

clicks in my head
It is really strange that we all have this clicking and nobody can help us. nobody knows where it is coming from. i have had this clicks for abut 2 months, i get it every single day when im walking, i also get it when i move my head fast up and down. i have also got this pain in my head that does not go away, its been a constant pain ever since i fist heard these clicks. i asked my docter and he had never heard of this. i am really worried since it has been like this for so long. i have lost all my consantration and its just as i dont feel anything anymore. i guess i worrie to much but what shall i do? i noticed that these posts are from 2005 and till this month and there is no answer for what this can be. i also have this sound in the left side of my head, the pain is also in the same area. PLEASE somebody tell me what this is!!
