Scared
Hi,
I use to have twitching of the head, but starting August 1, 2007--I had clicking/popping noises in my head and I still have them===they have now spread to my neck and spine.

So this is a nervous system problem--I think my nerves were damaged (brain-spine)--when I grew up in a violent household with no counseling.
Now that I have gotten older 41==I am in big trouble--wondering if I can keep my job which I worked for 20 years.

I wish this was just sinus or migranes or headache----I am going for an MRI- I am wondering if MRI's can show nerve damage. I am also having tinnuitus and hearing loss (or decrease in hearing)...
Insanity runs into my family--and I might be going insane. I am so so scared---these clicking noises have been going on for 6 months non-stop.

I just went to the doctors the other day and he told me I have sinusitis. He said that fluid (mucus) is blocking my sinuses and has filled a space between my jaw. He says the clicking is my jaw. I told him I didnt think it was my jaw because I hear the clicking at the back of my neck/head but he said it was. He is brilliant so I trust him. He prescribed me a nasal spray called Nasonex and an antibiotic called Clavulin. I just started them so ill tell you guys if the clicking goes away.

I am beginning to think it is Sinusitis, I haven't noticed it much, yet when I have a cold or a snotty nose or something, it is more noticable, meaning I think thats what it is, 5 months now and I have still got it...

Clicking in the head/brain
Ive had it for years and didn't know what it was thought it was like a tumor or or something, I found out that I could talk to the clicking noise and it could reply, its actually some kind of demon or devil. And I had people come up too me on the internet able to read my thoughts with some kind of teleckenitic ability. READ THE BIBLE. Im so nervous. And yes this is the truth. Its like a clicking or tapping in your mind, on the outer side, it can move locations and change the way it clicks.

I am so glad someone started this topic!
I have had this for a little while and thought i was going mad!
Apparently I have normal blood pressure though infact it's slightly low. I also had anaemia a few months back so I wonder if that is relevant.

I have this problem, apparently it's caused by muscles in the soft palate or back of the throat, which would explain why it stops when you clench your jaw.

Apparently it can be caused by high blood pressure, but it can occur randomly and if your blood pressure is normal it's nothing to worry about.

I'm relieved to hear it wasn't just me who had these symptoms it happened everytime I walked or went for a run I never went to a doctor about it as I thought he'd think I was mad or something....On seeing these posts there seems to be alot of different reasons as to why this happens There just has to be a good scientific proven FACT as to why people get these episodes...So please does anyone have the right answers????

Same!
I have had this problem since I was about 13...I'm now 19!

I have always had it just right off centre at the back of my head, kind of near the ear but not close to it. Never caused any pain or anything just EXTREMELY annoying when I'm walking. It goes on and off in phases...and its recently come on!!!!

My dad will also think im nuts so might mention it to the doctor.

Has anyone actually mentioned it to their doctor and got a response?

Clicking
I'm experiencing the same thing. To the left side of my head (temporal). I've had it for 3 months now. It has recently become more annoying. The clicking has increased. I have no pain with it but will see my doc and tell you what happens.

clicking and rustling noise in head
I have the same thing and I was so worried it was a tumour or something wrong with my brain. I get like a clicking in the head and also sometimes a rustling almost like the noise a fuse makes when its gone.

i searched this because i have the same symptom. When i am walking or descend stairs i hear a cracking . mine is also painless. I noticed the noise a few days after getting my wisdom teeth extracted. I figure it has something to do with having my teeth pulled. perhaps it could be TMJ related or the i've thought it could be coming from my neck. Another thought was it could be blood pressure related . I was prescribed vicodin (which i believe lowers your blood pressure. I have been back to work and no longer on drugs so i' know i'm not imagining it :} i noticed i was getting headaches during work that i thought were bloodpressure related or lack of painkillers. any thoughts?

Me too
So still no explanation?

I have just started getting this. My headaches started over a week ago and I have a pulsating / throbbing headache all the time and the back of my eyes hurt. Also when I walk I get a clicking in the back / top of my head. It feels like somethingh is loose. I'm getting worried something is majorly wrong, as it's not going.

It makes me abit dizzy and disorientated.

Am I being a hypocondriact?

clicking
I also have this and my neurologist recently diagnosed me with migraine equivalents, also called vertiginous migraines. You can get migraines with or without headaches. He told me that the clicking noises I hear in my head are just the tendons where the muscles attach to your skull, and people with migraines are just hypersensitive to these types of "noises" in their head. You're not crazy! Smile My sister has migraines and hears the clicking, and I met another woman who has the same issue. I also have some occasional facial numbness and tender spots on my scalp that are also migraine related. I have vertigo, too, sometimes I feel like I'm on a boat or something.

I forgot, my neurologist also said that sinus infections/sinusitis is also related to migraines, possibly just another form of migraine. I used to get sinus infections all the time before I started getting migraines.
