Hi there. I went in for my ultrasound at 23 weeks and have been frazzled since because of the behavior of the sonographer. With my first child the ultrasound took about 20 minutes from start to finish and I was permitted to hear the heartbeat and see the image on the screen. With this pregnancy, the sonographer initially had the sound on for me to hear the heartbeat but immediately shut it off muttering something under her breath. Then after I had been on the table for at least 20 minutes and had the same measurements done probably a half dozen times, she left the room, returned, continued with the ultrasound, then left the room again to return with another sonographer (i assume) they spoke quietly amongst themselves and I heard them say something about a ventricle, then they both left the room again and the original sonographer returned with a doctor. They continued the ultrasound and spoke again quietly to eachother and the doctor asked what the average was "between 4 and 10?" then said to just leave it and they would determine it when they reviewed the film, then they would confirm the measurements. I heard them say something about the cysterna magna and later was to find that it was 8. Is this unusual and why have they scheduled me to see a specialist?
