Tums!!!!! That was the only thing my doc
and pharmacist said I could take. My
heartburn was so bad near the end that
even if I drank water i'd get it and it
would wake me up, the gurgling would get
so loud it would wake hubby up too. I
just kept tums near me at all times, but
read the label, cause it says how many
pregnant women can take. Just be happy
to know the minute the baby is born it
disappears!

Have you tried lifting the head of your
bed a few inches? If not, get somebody
to put some sturdy blocks a couple of
inches thick under the frame at the head
of your bed. That lets gravity keep the
acid in your stomach. I would talk to
your ob/gyn about it... If it's that bad,
they'll prolly give you something else?
By the way, how's your diet? Cut out
caffeine, spicy foods, chocolate and most
things acidic... That may help a little
too.

The list of safe over the counter
medications that I got from the health
departments says that you can take tums,
rolaids, maalox, or mylanta for heartburn.
