Q: Heart Rate After Jogging

Hi all,

i recently started jogging on a 4.3 mile track in a local park. My resting heart rate (in the morning) is 60-65 bpm. I usually run in the mornings.

The thing is that after I finish running, my heart rate stays up to 80-85 until evening. When I wake up the next morning, it's back to 60-65. I am wondering is this is normal for my heart rate to stay slightly elevated after jogging.

If I don't run on any given day, my heart rate stays in the 60-70 range throughout the day, which I think is good. I am 24, male.

Let me know what you think!

I think you should talk to your doctor about it. Anything to do with your heart it's definitely better to be safe than sorry. You don't want to find out that you're doing irreperable damage to your heart when you are in fact trying to help it.

I agree! You should go ahead and see your Dr. And share the problem with him/her. I've never heard of someone's heart staying elevated several hours after the exercising has ceased (unless they had some kind of medical condition).

Good luck!
