I was just wondering if anyone has a torn rotator cuff? If so what are the symptoms, treatments, and how is it diagnosed?

Hey gjzh, I just came from my 6 week check after cervical fusion. I still have stabbing pains in my shoulders and upper arms. The doc prescribed 4 weeks of pt saying I probally have rotor cup tendinitis. After that I go back for a cat scan. I don't know what their going to do yet at pt, but i'll find out today and let you know. Steevo

After 12 visits to pt, I think the excersise's may be helping. Some of them are awkward and a little painful to do (if I go to far with them) but the pain's are less frequent through the day. They are having me work more on my rear shoulder muscle's rather than the one's on top (deltiod). It's hard to describe the excersise in writing, and there different from anything I would have thought of. I have also read that the c-7 nerve's can cause bursitis in the shoulder which is treated the same as tendinitis. Heat, ultra-sound, excersise and finally ice with the electric stem is the procedure I am doing at pt. Steevo

Hey gjzh how's that shoulder? Have you had an mri on that area? Tear's are usually tendon, ligament or muscle related. Steevo
