Q: 6 Month Old With Seizures Update

My daughter is now 10 months old. It has been over one month since her last seizure, which is the longest so far! She is currently on 3.1ml of trileptal.

Izabella is not sitting up yet, holding her own bottle, consistently grabbing for toys that are right in front of her. We have started her on physical therapy to help.

Izabella's eyes also go crossed every so often and she does not always make eye contact with us. The pt said that is something found with kids who have autism. Can this be because of autism, rom the trileptal, or damage from the seizures she has aready had? I am worried! The pt also noticed that when holding a toy in front of her, bella's eye would not always follow it. She thought maybe she could only see shadows. I have read things about people having problems with their eyes...We have an eye doctor appointment at the end of october. We are trying to find something sooner, but every where is booked solid.

If anyone has a comment, please respond back.

I am so sorry the therapist gave you more to worry about. She is much to young to figure out if she has autism. That usually occurs with normal developement then a regression as well.....Typically around 3 years of age.

I am so sorry she is delayed. I would have her eyes checked with a neuro opthamologist to see about the wandering eye issues. I have a friend whose toddler needed drops to help correct that. It could be many things and it would be good to get an opinion on it.

I am so glad the trileptal is helping!! Hang in there with it.....Hoping she will catch up on things...........

Hi,

i noticed that you are from michigan. By any chance are you taking your daughter to childrens hospital?

The reason I ask is because my two month old son has been having seizures. I am also from michigan. His doctor put him on trileptal, the seizures have stopped (it's been a few weeks since his last one). I'm just concerend about the side effects of trileptal.

What type of seizures does your daughter have? What types of tests has she had?

I'm just really confused and scared myself.

I know this is an old post, I hope you found out the info you were looking for and everything with you daughter is working out right.
