For the past 3 months on and off, i've been having dull pain on the underside of my left arm from the elbow down, and in my wrist. Sometimes it's awful! It also results in my hand and fingers going numb and feeling cold. I went to the er because I thought I was having a stroke or something, and the doctor really didn't have much to say. He said maybe it's carpal tunnel and gave me a splint to wear. Sometimes it helps and sometimes it doesn't. I do not spend much time at a computer and am not left handed. Please post and let me know if this sounds like carpal tunnel or something else! Thank you!

Hi,

do you think it started from your elbow? It might be nerve entrapment, either median nerve or ulnar nerve. Carpal tunnel syndrome involves thumb, index and middle fingers while cubital tunnel syndrome affects 4th and 5th digits. Specialists can confirm the diagnosis and nerve conduction study is also helpful.

Only wearing splint is not enough, try acupuncture. It should help your conditions.
