Q: Skin Staph Infection, Pls Help

I just had a baby five weeks ago and am now dealing with an awful skin staph infection. I have about 12 boils, some on tummy and some on one side of my breast. I've been on keflex for 3 days now. Today I noticed a new boil coming up on my arm. Does this mean the staph is resistant to the keflex? Do I need to be on something else? If an antibiotic is working, how long does it take to show improvement? Could the keflex be working even with a new boil popping up? Please help, i'm in a hurry to get rid of this crap. I'm afraid of passing it along to my new baby. Thank you.

Hi adriene,

i am having the same problem with staph infections, only I am getting them under my arms and my breast area. It hurts like crazy, and they keep coming back. The only relief that I get is placing hot water compresses on the area. If your doctor has given you an antibiotic and it hasnt helped, it may mean the medicine isn't strong enough. You should go back to your doc. In some cases, staph infections are contagious, so go soon, before it gets passed on.
I am unable to take any medication, as I am trying to conceive, so I just have to bear with this pain and keep placing hot compresses.

Antibiotics can be resistant to staph as well as we all have heard around in the news etc. I know olive leaf extract does kill it though. It is very safe to use and is a good antifungal as well if you have any yeast infections. You can get it in a good vitamin store in capsule form. From natures way or source naturals, they are good companies.

The effects of pregnancy though haven't been determined so I wouldn't recommend this if you are pregnant. Newborns can have a staph infection at birth- it does happen- but it is treatable, its hard to say don't worry. But staph is naturally anywhere on your skin as is. The babies form of staph its a differnt skin infection in them though not boils like you would have more of a redness appears, it is treatable as well.

I wish you both wellness-
