I'm sixteen and i'm a junior in high school. I've been having ovarian cysts since I was in sixth grade. I had surgery to remove two cysts two years later. Then I was put on birth control....I wasn't supposed to have any periods on birth control but I did (albeit, only three or four a year). The depo shots were supposed to take care of the cysts, but then I had one that ruptured last year, so I went off birth control. Now i'm not having periods, but I still have ovarian cysts...And they're just getting worse. I don't know what to do...I go to the doctor next week, but i'm getting worried because i've been in pain on and off for the past three weeks. I want to talk to someone who could have an inkling of what's going on before going to the doctor....Can someone as young as me get ovarian cancer?

Yes
Yes someone as young as you can have ovarian cancer, my 18 year old niece has it and probably has had it for a year or more. It is very unusual and rare but it can happen. Please get yourself to the doctors and get checked. Good luck.

I see why you're worried. I'm eighteen and i've been scared about something similar for the last few months. I guess I might be too worried but I keep going back to the doctors. An ultrasound has suggested I have an enlarged ovary which may be caused by a cyst. I'm going back to the doc's again asap. I'm going to find answers no matter how frightening it is. I don't know about your situation but I can see why you're scared, so just wanted to mention, you're not on your own. And there's not nessecarily anything badly wrong with us yet.

I just found out yesterday I had a cyst it ruptured. I have had sever stomach pains for two years. The doctors have ran all types of test on me. Yesterday morning I started hurting really bad and was rushed to the er. They did an ultra sound and didn't see anything but luckly I spoke up and said my bladder felt really full and I needed to pee. They didn't find the cyst. But they found the fluid.

They gave me birthcontrol. How long does this usually last the pain? Because I feel so weak today and can barley move without wanting to cry. They gave me ten loratab's 7.5 . What can be done for cyst's, I found this site trying to find out answers because of my stomach problems. I have been bascially blown off for two years, with oh its kidney stones, bladder infections and such. The only reason they even checked my ovaries was because I started crying when the lady touched the lower part of my stomach.

It really upsets me because I had asked many times for the doctor and the specialist to please do a full scan and they would only do the area that was hurting at the time.

 what are cyst caused from? There is also a history of people in my family who suffer from hernia's? Can a hernia cause a cyst? :?:
