I've been on medication for diabetes 2 for a month, and my hemoglobin [sp] count is still very high. Why is this happening? Why won't it go down?

I am on 5mg of glipizide and 2000mg of metformin and my testings
vary from 95 to 108-i've been on this for 5 weeks, but my asi was 10.4
and my cholesterol was sky high, plus I have lost 16 lbs, I don't
understand why the asi and chol were so bad-thanks
