Pregnant After Hysterectomy
Posted: 09-21-05 12:01pm

Just to clarify people....Nobody is being mean, it is just physically impossible for a woman to get pregnant after having a hysterectomy. Surgeons close off the opening of the vagina to the abdominal cavity at the end of the operation, so the vagina is now a closed sac which is open only at the outside. Even if somebody stuck a woman who had had a hysterectomy with a needle through her abdomen containing fertilized eggs and injected her with them (which we honestly doubt would ever happen - even hollywood hasn't done that yet), it would be like a 0.00000000000000001% chance of the fertilized egg ever developing into anything....Truth is, chances are probably less.

There is a condition called pseudo-paresis in which the woman so strongly believes she is pregnant that her body shows all symptoms....Enlarging belly and all!!

Like I said before, I am not trying to be mean, but just stating scientific, medical facts.

You say this.. But there is also medical evidence that thsi can happen.

Not to mention that it is possible to carry a baby outside of the uterus, and it has happend.

Just because it hasnt happened to you doent mean it cant happen, and I knwo full well this is in referance to fatfamily02.

If she truly belives that she is pregnant and eventually pops out a baby then whos got egg on their face? And in all fairness.. Does it really hurt any one?

Shes god knows how many miles from you.. And on the off chance she isnt is it really going to affect yoru day to day living?

The cases where a baby developed in the abdomen all pertained to women who had a uterus. Remember the first thing about getting pregnant....A sperm has to get to the egg! If the vagina is a closed sack, how can that happen?

Yes it is in reference to who you mentioned, but i'm not saying anything negative about her. She is a great asset to this forum and gives a lot of great advice and obviously cares a lot about people.

I'm science-based in nature, and had to state my knowledge....As I have every right to

I'm not saying it is or isn't possible. With god, anything is possible. But there are some people out there who are habitual liars and their lying is actually an illness. Like I said though, with god anything is possble.

It Is Possible And Does Happen--"no Set Facts In Scienc
Posted: 09-21-05 13:55pm

The only different between ectopic and my ectopic without a uterus is there is no uterus(not being used in ectopic anyway) and a little hole in my vaginal cuff, or vaginal end. How small a hole have to be for sperm to get thru. And when sperm dint come out of me where did it go!!! Hhhuummm! I have posted 2 of the cases where they had no uterus and conceived--one the link didnt work and the other I have part of it listed in my posts. I technically dont care what you think and you can all gang up on me if you want---the baby moves I feel his heartbeat, I feel the blood pulsing thru his sac, and he moves everyday. And my god is bigger than your unbelief and with him even if it were impossible as you say--he could still make it happen. He promised me 18 years ago, I have bled for what I believe I have even been called dillusional for what I believe and I know I am preg. Period case closed---watch the news. 6 months from now im sure it will go national in the news, my name is "joanna wells" look for it. And I for sure will be posting something on here when I do deliver.

There have been 12 documented case with no uterus in the last 60 years--medical files, and one girl who posted on here who they killed her baby with methotrexate. So she would be 13 known cases. Im sure there is more, I have page after page from the 1600-1800 of women and it is scarry what they endured. Abdominal pregnancy--ectopic pregnancy--heterotopic pregnancy. Research it, you have the internet.

Look at the pic what you think the round mass is in my abdomen. Even if it was just fat wouldnt look like that. Quit stepping on their faith--maybe they need to believe god can--and will bless all who dare to believe. Whatever it is. These girls need some sunshine, why throwing up the storm clouds. You cant hurt me, like I said to late to tell me im not preg, and noone can touch my baby. In jesus name ever. He is my miralce baby just like god spoke to me 18 years ago.

I'm sorry if I have offended you...That was not my intention. If indeed there is a baby, I wish you a healthful remainder of the pregnancy and wish you all the best.... I truly do. Like a said, I have a scientific mind which translates to cynical. Good luck with everything

well I know a nurse in bakersfield who would argue with you on that--they thought she had tumor, no tests come out, she started having what seemed to be labor, they went in to explore and found full term baby. She had, had hysterectomy previously done.

You are misinformed--sorry

lesliepei

i do not believe in this either. I know that there are cases of pregnancies happening, most of them do not go to term, and end up being very painful.

As far as fatfamily02 goes, man that's her business. And askara is just jumping to conclusions. If anyone wanted to attack fatfamily02, they could go chose one of the 100 different posts against her, and rant in there.

This is a general question, so all of the fatfamily02 a** kissers, brown nosers, and net buddies need to take the 'defense' some where else. Get off your high horse, this forum isn't all about you.

Anyway....

No I do not believe that it is possible. But it also depends on what sort of hysterectomy the patient has had. Either way, it is extremely unhealthy and most of the time, very dangerous.

This is my statement, I have not asked anyone on the board a question, so your denials, retorts, or overall opposing opinion is not needed. I work in the health care industry, and this has an almost non-existent chance of happening.

As a pharmacist you dispense drugs, you can't even prescribe them, congrats you know about medications. I am a medical transcription student, and last week we lightly touched on ectopic pregnancies, we did not discuss ectopic pregnancies without a uterus, but my teacher said that abdominal pregnancies do happen, just not with a large success rate.
As for pseudoparesis we also talked about that, that is simply you have every symptom of pregnancy, kicks, alck of period, swelling of the stomach, rise in hcg, etc but there is no baby when you do an ultrasound.

ooh ooh! Do me! Tell me what I know!

I'm an ambulance dispatcher. I deal with doctors, rns, and medics every day many on a face to face...

Tell me what I know!

Lmao....

Yes it can happen. Don't chose to address the only opinions that offer no explanation. I said that it is possible, but not only does it hardly ever happen, but the fact that a bouncing baby is going to some how emerge from a woman's abdomen, alert and healthy, it about as possible as a rainbow popping out her a** right after....

In case you haven't read fatfamily's posts, she has not had a positive urine or blood pregnancy test and she also had an ultrasound in which no baby was found in her abdomen...Get your facts straight.

And trust me, as a pharmacist i'm higher on the health field totem pole than a medical transcriptionist (ie secretary). Please don't presume to know more about this stuff than me. I was in university for 10 years and at the top of my class all along.

Respectfully,
leslie

well in my oppioun I think she looks prgnant. And why would anyone want to lie about something like that? I mean really. Even if she is lying in which case I do not believe she is. That is her bussiness. It is none of my bussines and so with that being said all I say is I am happy for her and her unborn baby.

Either Way...
Posted: 09-21-05 18:05pm

Well, I think it's doubtful but, stranger things have happened, and either way-
there are two posiibilities- she is, or she isn't.

If she is, then it's very hard on her to be constantly trying to convince people of the fact, and worried about about how it will all turn out, because she is not receiving much support from the medical community.

If she isn't, well, she truely believes she is, so how hard do you think that will be on her? She has felt what she believes is her child moving inside her, and formed a relationship with what she believes to be her son already.

Either way, who cares, she's a fellow woman in need of support, and using this forum to get some. If it bothers you, don't read her posts, or just skip over when you see her posts in a topic.
