Q: Tips On How to Appear More Approachable And Friendly

Hi. I'm 24 yrs old and would like guidance on what I can do to become more approachable to other people. Many see me as being very aloof, insensitive, and extremely quiet. I want to change the way others see me and i'm interested in having others feel more comfortable approaching me.

If it helps you in coming up with an advice for me, i'll admit that I had little or no popularity/friends throughout my entire life.

Thanks.

What is your self esteem like? Are you happy with the person that you are? I think that if you build on your self esteem then automaticly your approach to others becomes more open and friendly.

I totally want to know the same thing.
I've always thought I was comfortable with myself. Sure i'm neurotic about a few things, but I like myself. Here's the catch, i'm absolutely unapproachable. People are like "it's because you're cute" and so i'll wear my ugliest clothes for days, and still nothing from anyone who I don't extend myself toward.

Everytime I try to figure out why people pass me by or feel uncomfortable with me, people tell me it's because i'm not comfortable with myself. Hearing this over and over has made me more uncomfortable with myself than I guess I was before. I'm getting it now and it makes me pretty sad.
