I got my period on nov. 15th. I had un-protected sex on nov. 18th while my period was still going on. I had my period for 2 more days after that. Is the risk higher or lower for getting pregnant when you have you'r period????? I really need to know! Confused

The risk is lower, due to the fact that most women ovulate approx. 14 days before their next period. It is not wise to rely on this as a birth control method, as it is still possible to ovulate around the time of your period, although this doesn't happen frequently. If you are sexually active, then it would be a good time to look at contraception methods. There are plenty of options to choose from these days, and different types to suit every different life style and preference. Your doctor can advise you on what type of contraception method would best suit you.

Good luck
