Hello

just want to know if this is normal!!!!

I was on the depo prevera birth control injection for 2 years. It was wonderful! No period except on the rare time I would see some spotting but everything else was great. I had no phyisical changes and weight gain was only 5 pounds. No cramps, no mood swings. Now I have decided to go off the pill so the end of last may 2005 I did not go for my next injection. 3 weeks after I was due for my injection I started having a period and well its been 3-3 and a half months later and the period still has not stopped. One day I am spotting and the next is a normal period but it is on a constate daily basis, with only breif hours of the period stopping. I still do not have cramps or any discomforts of periods emotionally or physically and the blood flow is not overly heavy at any time. What I want to know is it normal to bleed for this length of time after you go off the injection? And how long will it take till the bleeding stops?

I am desperate to know!!! If you have any info I would greatly appreciate your thoughts.

Sincerely a concerned women.

I think a lot of women find that to be side effect after they've stopped having depo injections. But if you're really worried, see your doctor. They will be able to answer your questions for sure!
