I was wonderin how many of you are takin calcium pills along with your prenatels?? My doc is nice and everything but to be honest she has never once advised me on what I need to do or not do. She has neer asked me about my diet or even mentioned calcium pills. She really isnt too informative. She just walks in and runs her tests then she tell me about the results. Am I expecting too much or ....?? I know I probably need to step it up a knotch and ask her more but the truth was I had no clue what to ask how to ask or when to ask. Im I first-timer and I guess I just thought i'd get a mini crash course or even just get pointed in the right direction. Good thing my mom cares enough to inform me of the dos and donts.
Well let me know what you think???

My doctor is the same way. I think sometimes doctor's forget that we don't know all the things they do. As far as calcium pills, if you're taking a prenatal vitamin, I don't see why you would need to take any more. Those have more than enough calcium, iron, etc.
Just make sure you're eating well-rounded meals in addition to taking your prenatal vitamins and your baby will be in great shape!

The only other pill i've heard about from other parents is some kind of fish oil pill. I don't remember the name of it, but maybe you can ask your doc about it. Apparently this kind of fish oil helps with brain development later on in pregnancy. So that's always something you can look into.

I suggest making a list of questions for your doc beforehand. It is easy to remember them all once you are in the office.
