I was diagnosed with a malignant melanoma in april 2005 which they thought to begin with was nothing but after a sentinel node biopsy found had spread to a few of my lymph nodes. I have now had a complete node removal from under my left armpit. The hospital have told me that although the nodes have been removed they can't guarantee it isn't in my lymphatic system, but until/if it resurfaces they can not do anything.
Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone else ended up with lymphoedema as a result? Haven't met or spoken to anyone in the same situation. Would just be nice to hear someone elses experience with this.

Melanoma
I didn't have the same experience. I was diagnosed with melanoma in december 2002, at age 28. I was ordered to have chest x-rays and a few other tests, but just ignored them all. Probably not the smartest thing to do, but i'd rather not know. I was just writing to recommend a website to you. It's cancerforums.Com and there is a specific section just for skin cancer. I think you will get more helpful feedback from that website. Good luck and god bless.

hi,
i was diagnosed with a mm firstly in mar 2003 it was in a mole and was more thna 2m thick. Then in oct 2006 I found a lump in my groin, which turned out to be mm again. I had surgery for a lymph node disection and one node was affected. I go to see the oncologist a week tomorrow.
Re lymphodema the swelling has gone down, but still collecting fluid that they have drained, but just came staright back, still ahve numbness, but due to start physio tomorrow, so hoping that will help with the fluid and discomfort.
I know what u mean about talking to someone in same situation. So feel free to keep in touch and let me know how u get on.
Do take care god bless sxxx

Re: Stage 3 Melanoma
Hi I was diagnosed with stage4 malignant melanoma in my lower left leg shortly after having my son and losing a brother-in-law to cancer . I have had numerous surgeries and missing lympnods and had a regional lymph profusion done and I am free knock on wood . If anyone would like to share war stories or as some of my family members would say stories from hell !!!!!!!! Feel free to contact me and have a great day . Psss someone told me this from the cancer clinic I attend ( take your left hand and put it on your right shoulder and then take your right hand and put it on your left shoulder and give yourself a big hug from someone how knows what you are going through )
