If you all dont mind, how old are you? How does one know if this is what it is. I am39, my periods started when I was 9. Does this mean I will go through it earlier? I dont have a diagnosis but I have many of the symptoms.

Oh I am wanting to talk to anyone also about perimenopause. My dr says no, I am too young (i am 35) but I started my period when I was 11, and I have had seven children (i have heard that the more children you have, the more likely you are to begin menapause early). My symptoms are: thinning hair (always had thick hair, now its not thin, but less than thick), itchy arm pits (i have always used secret deoderant and no itchies until past 6 months), only one normal week out of the month, that being the week after my period (other wise I am a grouch and everything gets on my nerves), darker, longer hair on my fore arms, increased sex drive (not sure this is a symptom), and then general moodiness where I cry a lot before I ovulate and also right before my period. I also have regular periods, just shorter from 6-7 days to 3-4 days. My o.B. Does not acknowledge perimenopause and I would love to switch doctors but insurance won't allow it now. Any clues anyone? Do any of you have same symptoms? :?:

I have the same symptoms as you, and my doctor does not consider perimenopause, he is wrong of course as many women need help.
I have joined a natural alternative group, and even if you just want advice they always help you,

Could someone tell me what is the different of menopause and perimenopause? I'm 47. I've many symptoms of menopause. Can someone tell me where I can get prove of that "my palpitation is come from menopause" not from heart? Do you all go to tell your gp that or just keep quiet and sit at home? Enjoy all these symptoms :? I've a very upset mode, not enjoy at all (especially the palpitations) and i'm really really get mad. I need help! Pika.

Thanks juju. I'm in perimenopause.

Helen, my mum told me only healthy people can get shiney hair. Sick people will have their hair keep falling. I'm dreaming of my teenage thick hair.

Was about 37 wen things started goin nuts. Mood swings etc etc etc getting worse as the years go by. ( im now 45) (was told I was too young ) would like to know wen ovaries learned how to read a calendar. Have had 2 tests for hormone levels both came back ok . Sooooooo wat is goin on ?? Drs tell me its not peri but cant tell me wat it is. A friend suggested perimenopause etc my symptoms are text book type. All in my mind??? Only one doc a female said it could still be possible.
So I go through life feeling like I swallowed a lead weather balloon etc etc waitin for it to finish. Dont wanna go on hrt sooo??????????? The only suggestion of help ive had from a doc was anti depressants. To wich I said no.

Bioidentical And Perimenopause
Posted: 03-01-06 16:15pm

Hi all! I decided a while ago to build a strictly informational site about menopuase, perimenopause, and postmenopause, as well as how to help cope with the symptoms using bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I learned a lot, and now am looking to put a more personal view on it and am looking for women who would like to share their stories or questions on the site. If you are interested you can visit the site at www.Bioidenticalmedicaldic tionary.Com or email me at meganma thews@tds.Net, or megan m1524@hotmail.Com. I have gained a lot of knowledge on the subject, and have helped many women gain knowledge to help them through the transition. You can also reach me through this forum. Thanks so much!!

hello. Would like to recommend the writings of Dr. John lee. He has a wonderful book on peri-menopause.

Also, please consider natural progesterone. It does wonders.

Perimenopause

here's a definition of perimenopause -- for those unclear as to what it is:

before menopause occurs (the average age is 51.4), women go through something called perimenopause, . . . . Perimenopause occurs during the 10 years or so prior to menopause and is characterized by hormonal changes that can cause a variety of symptoms including irregular periods, breast tenderness, worsening premenstrual syndrome (pms) and diminished libido.
