So I have a problem - I have had these since I gave birth to my son and never got them checked- sometimes they are so painful it stings and I have gotten rashes because of them or so I assume. I have had blood in my stool before but this is now much different. When I go to the bathroom the water is blood red and when I wipe there is quite a bit of blood are my hemroids just bleeding or is this much more serious???

I am so glad to hear about your problem!!!! I just had my 4 child in february and I can not seem to get rid of mine. They itch, burn and bleed. Wiping with tissue when I use the bathroom gives immediate relief then hurts bad and then bleeds bad. I am not sure what to do either. My husband (who is self employed) and I do not have insurance since our baby was about 3 months old due to the politics of medical coverage for the self employed..... That is an entirely different forum. Needless to say I have not consulted my doctor #1 because of the financial consequences and #2 because I am afraid any minor medical issue will deem me medically uninsurable. Anyway what have you found out??? I have tried fiber... Doesn't seem to help much.... Stool softeners?? Helps but I only take one a day and not sure how they will effect my breastmilk. I do know that if the blood is red (like mine) is fresh/surface blood where as brown blood means it is old. If blood is intermingled in the stool thst is probably not a good thing. Mine seems to be happening right at the anus. .... Help if you can?

My Advice
I also had issues with hemorroids during both of my pregnancies. After my first daughter, I have a hemorroidectomy right after her delivery before the episiotomy stitches. So there was some pain, but nothing compared to having them everyday. After my second daughter was born, they went away or at least have never gotten inflamed again. I also have a girlfriend who has been plagued by them and has had them lanced, however they always come back.
Tucks works somewhat as well as the creams, but my opinion and what I would do is get rid of them for good if possible (hemorroidectomy).
Insurance wont pay any heed to hemmoroids. They are not cancerous or precancerous and I would venture to say 80% of people have had them or will have them at some point.
It would be an outpatient procedure.

more results if you type "hemorroid surgery" in a search engine.

Hope this helps a little

Cure to Hemoirds
Hi everyone-

you shouldnt self cure hemorids becaue it will just come back and it will be worse than before. I know that there is a 30 second painfree procedure to remove hemorids. It is not a surgery but it is done by full board ceritified surgeons. I know that they use a dispoable device to band your hemorids to eliminate cross contamination. You will be in and out of the office withint 10 minutes and less than 30 sec to remove the hemorids permenately. I've heard great things about it, and I know health insurance will cover it as well. The clinic even does colon cancer screening and thats important because it is the second largest cancer that kills but it is curable. Check out the link at Crhclinic.Com. Where are you located at? I hope all this is helpful to you. Let me know if I helped at all.
