Q: Ortho Tricyclen And Pregnant? Please Help.

I am currently on ortho tricyclen (28-day). I am very consistent on taking the pill everyday, except for this cycle. I missed the first active pill and instead of taking it when I remembered, I skipped it and took the next day's pill. The last time I took two pills, I became sick so I didn't think it would hurt to skip one pill. My husband and I have intercourse once a day, everyday (no backup method). I'm due for my period in 9 days, but in the past week, i've experienced symptoms i've never had before. I've been on the pill for 5 years now and none of these things have ever happened to me until now. Six or seven days ago, I spotted. Nothing heavy, just a light pink then later brown discharge. Two days later, I had really bad cramps, both in the abdomen and in the lower back (i rarely get cramps ). That evening, I bled a little more after intercourse. The next day, I cramped but not as bad as the previous day. The day following, I again had some bleeding after intercourse. The bleeding was not heavy and didn't last long, but i've never had that happen before. I'm also feeling bloated and gained 2.5 lbs in the last two days without changing my eating habits. I'm thinking I may have become pregnant but it's too early to take a hpt. I called my doctor and told her about my symptoms but she says not to worry about it for now and to call her if my period doesn't come. I've heard that a woman's intuition is very strong and I can't shake the feeling that I am pregnant. In fact, i've had dreams the past two nights of being pregnant. I've also heard that diarrhea causes the pill to be less effective, which I had the first few days of my cycle. What do you guys think? Is it all in my head or could I really be pregnant? Have any of you become pregnant while taking birth control pills or know of anyone who did? I'm really curious to see just how many women this happens to. Please help!

Ok well have you taken a test yet? My suggestion is dont stress on it, until you can take a test. You might not be pregnant because you have been so consistent on the pill, that when you missed the one day, you were still covered. The symptoms you are having might be from something else. But I have heard people getting pregnant off the pill. So just wait to see if your period comes like the doc said. And if its late, take a test to see. Good luck.
