Lupus -plaquenil - Damage to Eyes?
Hi! Mellisa, I have been on this medication for over 30 years,
eyes are checked every 6 months and all is fine, do wear
glasses but that is due to my age.

It is always a possibility; this is why you should have an eye test every six months (or as your Dr. Suggests) while you are taking plaquenil.

Lupus Plaqunil Eye Damage
How much plaqunil are you taking and at what level will it cause damage?
What is the risk of not using these drugs? And what is the type of damage you can get, would it be blindness or a shift in colour perception? If you stop taking the drug will your vision return to normal?

Need answers. Please help

I am 24 years old. I was on plaquenil for 3 months when I started seein changes in my eye sight. I once had 20/20 vision and that is no longer. I blame the medication because the changes happened so rapidly. My rheum. Took me off of them but of course it was too late and the damage had been done. I now wear contacts and glasses. It's a huge adjustment because I have never experienced wearing anything other that sunglasses. Just make sure you get regular eye exams because everyone is different.
