I have been on birth control pills everyday day of my life for the past 7 years. I have decided to give my body a break and quit taking the pill for about a year or so. What should I expect? Please help if you know I am nervous about it yet excited.

I recently stopped taking my birth control pills after taking them for 7 months. I haven't really noticed any adverse effects - only good ones! I feel better overall, i'm don't have mood swings and my sex drive has returned! :d

every body is different of course, but so far i'm feeling great! No complaints here!

Bleeding
Ending the pill can cause some odd withdrawl bleeding. I just quit about a month and a half ago and I have been bleeding very irregularly. After doing some in-depth research I have discovered that sense no abnormal pain has occured I need not worry until it has lasted for 3 months.

Cancer?
My girlfriend is about to start the patch and im worried because I have a friend who was recently diagnosed with cancer. She swears that the only thing she changed in her life before being diagnosed was switching from the pill to the patch. She feels very strongly that it was because of the patch. Has anyone else heard of the risk of cancer with the patch???

Getting Off the Pill
I was on ortho-cyclen and when I got off of it I had some bleeding about 3 or 4 days later (like a period) with some cramping (like a normal period but a little more persistent) and it lasted about as long a normal period and from there I was pretty much fine. Just be aware that your cycle isn't regulated any more so you may not be on that routine monthly cycle. Hope this helps!

I Am Late After Quitting
Hi, I see that many of you that stoped taking orthotricyclen have been bleeding. Well I am kind of late on my period eventhough I have some light cramping and sore breasts. Could it be a result of stopping the pill?
