Pilonidal Cyst
Jesus im glad i came across this site. Ive been searching google and skin cancer kept popping up D:..
But yeah i have a similar problem. at the top of my butt crack i have this lump that feels like a big zit. ive had it for about 3 months or so and ive booked a doctors appointment for tomorrow to get it checked out..
Most of the time it just randomly leaks this clear bloody liquid and doesn''t really smell. sometimes it bleeds quite a lot when i try and squeeze the puss out. i know i shouldn''t but it makes its feel a lil better usually.
I didnt know so many other people have a similar problem, its kinda put my mind at ease a bit. hope this helps

A second anus.
I think I have the same thing. It is located near the beginning of my butt crack under my tailbone, not exactly in the buttcrack itself but just off to it on one of my buttcheeks. I would describe it as more of a hole, as I can feel an indentation. It does occasionaly bleed and some stuff does ooze out but not much usually, I only notice it if i wipe the hole with toilet paper. Usually the hole collects fluff and hairs. Only sometimes does it hurt, usually a stingy hurt, and often if im in a shower. Ive had it for well over a year and often forget about it, either that or ive just gotten used to it. Ive only now decided to check it up online. Is this the same thing that other people are describing? I think it is, though im not sure, I always thought it was a sore that would never heal because it was in just a dark and damp environment!

TEA TREE OIL - FOR P-CYSTS, STAPH, BOILS, etc.
This is for anyone who has little black "holes" or "spots" at the top of their anus directly under their tail bone, painful red bumps on their bottom or back of legs, any oozing "boils", etc. I have dealt with pilon. cysts, staph, boils, etc. for YEARS and the ONLY thing that has worked in applying tea tree oil to the area. You can add it to a lotion like Cetaphil or apply the oil directly to the problem area - warning, tea tree oil can be very drying so dilute it if you have very sensitive skin...or it will sting/burn. If u are suffering from these problems ditch the antibiotic ointments, the antibiotics, etc. and please, please try tea tree oil - you will be able to end this problem/control it very easily. FYI - on some occassions the oozing contains staph bacteria (this was the case for me). The WORST thing u can do is "drain" the boils/cysts because they will spread like wild fire - leave them alone, apply tea tree oil - if you see a "white head" apply tea tree oil to a bandaid and cover the boil/cyst for 1 day then check it and re-apply if needed. Usually just applying the oil will work - without covering...air is good. With the cysts in the upper anus region below the tail bone, allow it to heal on its own as long as u can - if they just keep hurting/growing, apply a hot rag for severl minutes and apply pressure on either side of bump to gently drain. Good luck!

Get it checked, but try not to panic.
I was reading this board last night and getting freaked out about the possibility that I had a cyst. In my case, I have a small sore lump that's between my cheeks, not up near the tailbone like many of the posters here, and mine hasn't been giving off any discharge. I went to a walk-in clinic this morning to have it checked out, since I didn't want to leave it and let it get worse. Turns out it's an abscess that's formed because of an ingrown hair, and that in a couple of days (hopefully) it'll pop and drain out on its own. Apparently it's going to hurt for quite a while after that, but it shouldn't come back. Now I'm just wishing I had a health-care plan --I had to shell out $60 for antibiotics.

Same problem
Have the same problem, i found that if you just drain it by pressing on it and pushing the cyst towards the holes it gets rid of alot of fluid I expriance no pain in doing this and it doesn't even bother me. How I think it formed was I fell on my butt playing soccer and could barley walk for a week, a couple months after this I developed a lump which did hurt at the time for a couple of months and then I noticed a hole formed which started oozing this redish liquid, all in all it's been a bout 7 years and I've just lived with it.

May not be a pilonidal cyst
What some of you are describing IS NOT a pilonidal cyst!!! I had that problem to. Now, I have the same problem you guys are speaking of (several little holes and a lump) and my doctor said the only thing I can do is keep the area clean and take antibiotics or a skin graft. He told me what the condition is called but I can't remember! It begins with the letter "H"...... I am sorry I can't recall the name. He said the skin graft would be very painful and my best bet is to make sure to keep the area as dry and clean as possible and use Hibiclens on the area when I shower. Also, shower as often as possible and avoid tight clothing. Hope this helps!

Hidradenitis Suppurativa is what some of you are describing. Sadly, if antibiotics do not work you are looking at skin graft surgery which is painful and expensive. I'm dealing with it and on 2 antibiotics right now.

Cysts
I have had 3 cysts they can get very very big gross and so uncomfortable you can't even sit.. I went for surgery to get mine lanced and removed but every now and again it feels like it gunna come back.. The best thing to do when you feel it coming on is to rub it really hard I know it hurts but it breaks it up .. It will go away if you put alot of pressure on it when your rubbing it..

Seems like a pimple, but maybe a cyst?
I had a lump on my buttcrack about 6 months ago. It felt like a huge pimple. After a couple days the pain was so bad that I eventually had to "pop" it my self. After I made a hole, I pushed on it to drain it. At first, it was a puss like substance that smelled like death. I kept pushing on it till it started to bleed. By then, the lump was much, much smaller and most of my pain had been relieved.

After a few days, it must have healed right up because all swelling and discomfort subsided. Now, here I am again with the same problem. I wonder if it is in fact an ingrown hair.

Also, I noticed today at work the pain was not too bad, but later in the day it almost vanished unless I applied direct pressure on it. As soon as I got home and changed into my "baggy" jeans, I sat down for a bit to play some Call of Duty quite happy that the lump wasn't hurting me. After a few hours the pain returned, so I started to look up the symptoms online.

Slacks are part of the dress code at my work. The slacks fit snuggly around my waist, and I'm on my feet most of the shift. I wonder if maybe my low hanging jeans, and love for video games are perhaps a catalyst for this ailment? Anyone experience the same?

Mega painful pylonodial abcess
Hi guys...this is my story with my pylonodial abcess. I'm a 23 Yo female who is very hygienic. About 9 days ago I woke up with what felt like a bruise on my tailbone. It developed into an uncomfortable part to sit on, into the most painful experience of my life on the 7th day. I was taking a huge amount of painkillers, a doctor gave me antibiotics, I tried magnaplasm and hot baths for it to pop but it just wouldn't. It was ultra painful to touch and rock hard and heat was coming off it like a little oven. There was absolutely no puss or blood to be seen. I went to the doc a second time, wanting to die I was in so much pain, and he sent me to the ER who took one look at me, put me under a general anaesthetic and sliced it open.
I woke up feeling amazing...I just have to have a nurse around every day for a week to redress my 2.5cm wound. If you have this go to your doc then to the hospital and get it done you will not regret it!

Tailbone cysts pretty common
You aren't alone! I also had these cysts on my tailbone when I was in Junior High/High School. They are genetic--my mother had them also. They can be caused by normal sweating or friction from exercise, or even sitting in a weird way. I was lucky because my mother had gone to the doctor many years before and was given what's referred to as BLACK SALVE or ICHTHAMMOL. It's what's referred to as a drawing salve, in other words, it draws infection out and is used on cysts. You can find it at most pharmacies but it is behind the counter and you have to ask for it. I would place a good amount of it on a small piece of gauze and tape it in place with surgical tape overnight. I usually only put it on overnight because it is a tar-like substance and has a very strong smell. Make sure you clean the area thoroughly between applications. In a couple of days or sometimes as little as a day, the salve causes the bump to rise to a head and burst. Afterward, clean it really well and that should take care of your problem. Once it comes to a head and bursts it should go away. It can become a reoccurring problem, but to keep them from coming back, wipe the problem area with alcohol to dry it out several times a day and this usually prevents them from coming back. Of course if it doesn't work or you continue you to have more serious problems you should consult a doctor. Hope this helps Smile
