Alright here is my story...

I'm 17 and the summer of 03 I injured my back on a diving board...Lived with pain for 2 years and unable to bend backwards at all...I never did anything about it. This past summer of 05 I twisted it or something and had to go to the er. To make a long story short, i've had 2 xrays, 2 mri's, a bone/spec scan, emg, and blood and urine tests, and seen a back specialist...All tests showed that I was normal and nothing was wrong. However i'm stuck with terrible back pain and I can still no longer bend the slightest bit back, and on my upper spine there is a specific spot that hurts like a mug if you apply the slightest bit of pressure to it. The doctors don't know whats wrong so they kind of put me on the back burner. I can't stand this pain and i'll get muscle spasms that will bring me to the groud or terrible lower pain(usually) that just throbs and sometimes is sharp. I stoped taking medication because I don't want to be dependent upon it, but i've had just about every test done and I was just wondering if anyone out there knows what i'm talking about and if anyone has any suggestions. I'm young and my life is just starting, I don't want to be in pain forever. Help please!

Jenna, my spinal injury was pretty serious, and even though all of the x-rays, ct scans, and mri's that were done at first did show some of the problms, it was'nt until 12 weeks later at a second opinion and second ct scan that a bone chip was seen causing more of the pains. If you have not already, try a different, unrelated hospital, their staff and machines may show something. Consult your insurance first, but most do not object to second opinions. Hope this helped.
