One Laural, One Hardy....daughter Posted: 09-14-05 18:53pm
Hi,
i have 2 daughters, the younger one is 22
years old and weighs 90kg's and is quite
tall. She is over weight and is miserable
and wants me to please help her lose some
weight. I am always telling her how
beautiful and precious she is, but she
wants to lost down to 65kg"s. My other
daughter is 24 and she is the opposite.
She is 1.67m and weighs 50. She is
constantly talking about her weight and is
petrified of any weight gain. I have made
them both feel very special and preciuos
to me. How can I help my youngest
daughter lose her weight safely, and how
can I get my eldest daughter, whio is very
very clever with all the tactics used to
gain weight, she is smart and heading for
disaster. After she eats she starts
sweating and shaking and getting heart
palpatations and get very tired. As a
mother do I just watch her do this, she
lives with her boyfriend and told me to
butt out of her life. How do I help my
girls

It's hard to watch your daughters, as they
struggle in somewhat different ways. As
they are both adults, there really isn't
much you can do to help them. It is a
choice they themselves have to make. I
would encourage you just to let them know
that you care for them, and are there for
them if ever need be. Therapy is really
the only way to recover from an ed. I
honestly do not think it is possible to
recover without the aid of the right
therapist. Having said that though, if
someone does not want to recover, the best
therapist won't change that.
I know this probably wasn't the answer you
were looking for, but coming from someone
who has suffered from an ed, and knows
what it's like, this is just my viewpoint
on it. I am reluctant to give information
on how to lose weight for the first
daughteer, as focusing on the behavioiurs
is never beneficial.
