Ok...Im confused...Maybe someone can help here. I am on ortho tricyclen lo, have been for 8 months. My periods usually come around the 2nd to 3rd sugar pill. Well I still have 4 more active pills before the sugar pills and I started bleeding today, is that normal?

I've heard that this can happen to some women.

Ok now another question has popped up...Lol. If this is in fact my period should I continue taking the pills as usual since I still have 3 active ones left? My period usually lasts 6 days so that means me going 3 days with no pill after my period is done. Or should I just start a new pack the day after my period ends? Im worried about those three days that I wont be taking any pills.

Normally for me, my period starts on day 4 of the sugar pills (thursday, cause i'm a monday start) and lasts through saturday. So that means I go one day after my period on the sugar pills. Even if my period started sooner, like on day two, i'd still wait that full week before starting the next pack.

Since some women spot while on the pills normally, i'd sa it's pretty safe for yout o keep taking those two active pills you have left and then start on the sugar pills. That way, your schedule will stay the same.
