Ok so for about the last month or so I have been getting pelvic pains intermittantly. Sometimes the pains only last for a few minutes other times it will last for an hour or more. Just recently i've been getting sharp pains while having sex. When I stop having sex the pains remain for a while afterward, but not as strong. I have no clue as to what this could be. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

It could be any number of things: cysts on ovaries, pid, std, etc. You need to go see a doctor and have them run tests. That kind of ongoing pain is not normal and can be a indicator of something very serious. Do not put it off any longer. Go get tested.

Ok, so to add to my woa's... I've had a continuous pain since this morning. I went to see the doc and he said it could be an ovarian thing or maybe my uterus flipped but he also said it may be from my appendix. So he has sent me to see a general surgeon at the university hospital. So we will see how that goes.

Yeah! Please do not take that the wrong way. I am just very glad that you saw a doctor. I hope everything turns out ok for you! Even if it turns out to be nothing at least you will have peace of mind.

So they are still not 100% certain about my appendix or not, but they do know for sure that I have ovarian cysts and more than likely what happened was one burst on my right side. But it doesn't explain all the pains I have in my pelvic area. So tomorrow morning I am going back to my other doc and get some more tests done to find out about my other pains.

Ok, so i'm a little confused. I was thining about everything that went on yesterday and came up with a few things that didn't make much sense. Like, the ultrasound guy said that I had polups (sp?) on the outside of my ovaries and the resident that saw me said that I had cysts. Are polups different than cysts??? Also if cysts is what I have, how long does the pain stay if one did burst?

Small cyst and fibromyalgia!
I have a small cyst my obgyn does not think It the reason for pelvic pain, why I am haven pelvic pain with no tenderness its there in my groin and abdomen. I had this pelvic pain in 2001 had a TAH in 2002, still have the ovary with cyst it might have shrunk but it did not go away. my pelvic pain returned in 2008 along with tendonitis in the hip. I had multiple cyst or tumors in 2001-2002 or maybe longer, but why won't my obgyn automatic put me in the catagory that my pain is not from one small cystic ovary, and why am I diagnosed with fibromyalgia? why can't this cyst be the reason for my pain and swelling of muscles and tendons and joints?
