I have been taking depression and anxiety medicines for about 2yrs now(ever since I got pregnant). They are such a life saver for me and control my moods and lack there of. But I am concerned that they are causing a chemical/ hormonal imbalance. I have completely loss all sexual drive, and my fiance has had just about enough. Any suggestions on any over the counter herbal remedies.

Hi, I understand totally what you're going through, I was on fluoxetine (prozac) and after a while my sex drive just totally disappeared. I came off it and am now taking st johns wort (just as good as prozac without any of the nasty side effects) which doesnt affect my sex drive at all.. Only problem is you shouldn't take it with the pill as it can affect its effectiveness =/ if you are on another form of contraception though or dont mind changing its brilliant :)

You can also first talk to your doctor and explain to him/her how this is affecting your sex drive. He/she may be able to prescribe something that will help counteract, or boost, your drive. If not there are some herbal /over the counter remedies out there to help increase the sexal drive. Just be sure to talk to your pharmacist about what would work. He/she should be able to tell you if the herbal remedies would interact/react with the medications you are currently taking.
