Well im not a Dr..... But I can tell you what I know about them from experience---

i had to have a cyst lanced on friday.... There are several different methods used to treat them..

1 the pill--- the hormones in the pill can decrease the size of it allowing you to conceive when u are ready (and I pray that it isnt soon!)

2. The patch--- same concept

3.Surgery--- if the dr feels that you are in danger of the cyst rupturing-- he may ask you to do this..... This also helps increase the chances of fetility--- and is better for your body so that you arent taking chances of taking another medication---all meds come with risks-- we all know this.

I myself opted to have the surgery so that I may become preg again in the next yr. I have always wanted a large family and with my cyst it was preventing us from doing this....... So this is what was best for us.......

Hope this was of some help to you.......
