i am not thinking so!

What you need to do, is call your doctor, but most likely it was cervical mucous. This is that really thick and sticky discharge that comes a few days before your period. It is possible that this mucous may not have fully came out before your period. Just call your gyno and let him or her know what the deal is. This would at least be peace of mind for you. These things can be scary, but in the end, it is usually nothign to lose sleep over.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Im sorry but it sounds like a bag (as in preg) or a cyst to me. I hope not a miscarriage. I did hear on here one girl saying it happened to her and was not a miscarriage--but it sounds like it could be to me!!?? How is the bleeding--normal ?? Or heavy?? Clotty?

Is it possible that you were pregnant? Maybe you had a miscarriage. I had two between my daughter and son and the first time it kinda looked like what you are describing. I didn't know I was pregnant or anything. The second time I knew I was pregnant and it was bigger and much more painful than the first time. If that is not it, I don't know what else it could be. I hope this helps.

Are there any other possibilities to what it could be? I mean could it have anything to do with me just starting to take the pill?

I do not know what else it could be, maybe you should call your doctor. If it was a miscarriage you should continue your birth control. I wouldn't stop unless you want to get pregnant or it happens again. It may not be that at all but the first miscarriage I had was just like tissue, it almost looked like part of me. It was gross and I didn't realize what it was at first. I definitely think you should atleast call your doctor and talk with someone there.

What you describe sounds to me like a very early stage miscarriage. It is not uncommon for a woman to not know she is pregnant, still have her period, and then think that her period is just heavier than normal, etc.

One thing you can do is take a pregnancy test. If you were far enough along that a baby sac had already developed your body could still be carrying some of the pregnancy hormone. See if the test comes out positive or negative. I would continue taking your pills. If you do take a pregnancy test and it comes out positive you do indeed need to see your doctor. Sometimes after a mscarriage your body needs help "cleaning out" and leftover debris. If not careful it could leave behind scar tissue, etc.

Either way, I still advise you to call your doctor and describe to him/her what happened. He/she will judge what is best for you to do.
