My Experience
Posted: 09-12-05 13:42pm

Ok,if no1 else is prepared 2 start this discussion then I will.
I was 15 when I found out I was pregnant with my 1st child. When I went into labour I was 16 and my boyfriend jamie was 17. We both said we would like a boy.I'd always wanted a boy first so he could protect all of his siblings. I went into labour 2weeks early.Jamie was with me all the way. I was in labour for 10 hours + 37 mins + at 11.22pm I gave birth to a 6ib 8oz baby girl. We decided to call her lucy-rose because lucy was the name my best friend who had previously died said she wanted me to call the baby if it was a girl and I chose the middle name rose because I think it sounds nice with lucy.
When I went into labour with my second child me and my boyfriend ryan both wanted a boy. I was 17 and so was he when I went into labour. I was in labour for 13hours + 2mins and I gave birth to my second healthy daughter. It was ryan's first child. She weighed 5ib 1oz and we decided to call her bethany-emily.I always call her beth though.
When I went into labour with my youngest child I was 19 and so was my boyfriend jason. I again wanted a boy and jason said because it was his first child he was open-minded. I was un labour for 7hrs+55 mins and gave birth to the baby boy I longed for. He weighed 4ib 2oz and was kept in hospital for a few weeks because he was so small. We called him kieron-lee.

Even though I am a single mum I am so happy with my 3 beautiful children.
Please share your expierence.

My Quick Labours
Posted: 09-12-05 23:37pm

Hi there, I had my first child a 16 also. I carried sophie until I was 38 weeks and with just 4 1/2 hrs of labour she was born quickly painfully and beautiful, at 4lbs 13 oz she was tiny but healthy. My second was just 13mths later, when I went into labour at 33 weeks. I was scared to death but was reassured that all was going to be fine. After 10hrs of labour rhys james was born weighing 5lbs!! And also perfect. We had a 7yr break before we went for number 3 and at 37 weeks and just 4hrs of hard fast labour chelsea grace was born weighing 5lbs 11oz (of course perfect) now my kids are 8,7 and 2 and we are expecting number 4 to arrive around x-mas time :) my labours have been quick and easy with no real problems and i'm hoping this one is the same (we are expecting a little boy) we plan to call either jai karl-phillip or jaidyn karl-phillip, what so you think of the names????? Anyway I hope my short labour info has shed a little light on the topic for you and good luck!!! :)

I had a good labor just a bad expierence with the nurses

at 6:30 my water broke it had only been an hour and a half of being home from the hospital. I called triage and they told me until my contractions were 4 mins apart they didnt want me in there, I went anyways. We waited in a waiting room with other expecting family till 7:50 as my parents came in 10 or 20 mins later. The pain was intense but my dad kept cracking jokes so it wast as bad, my mom kept trying to give me yogurt lol!. The nurse checked me once around 8:30 and never came back, my mom was timing my contraction (my mom has 6 kids) and realized I was 1 minute apart (i was so spaced out) the pain gets to a point where you stop feeling it. My mom opened the examintaion room door and asked the nurse to check me she said in half an hour, my mom said "no now!" the nurse asked my mom to calm down but my mom explained I was a minute apart. The nurse never came in my room, mom went out 10 mins later and went into a delivery room and pulled a nurse out and said I needed to be check now. Their response was im a first time mom and labor is longer. Anyways 10 mins later they checked me I was 7 cm dialted I got transported to a delivery room pronto at 9:55 in half an hour I dialted the last three cm and had elisa at 10:52.......

Im not saying labor is bad it was more the service I got and my parents werent to impressed either. On top after I had my daughter they didnt kneed on my belly to help the placenta out they freaking ripped it out and that was the most painful part, I ended up hemoraging and got a buncg of drugs after. The nurse treated me like crap threatened me with thing if I dont eat hospital food I wont be able to leave or best they kept harrassing me to get epidural( I had a solution my dad brought me pizza m<mmmmmmmmm and I went natural. I have called and made a complaint they had so many excuses anyways im going to a birthing center this time I have talked with ob gyn and they have been so understanding and helpful just makesure you voice ur opinions and worries unfortuantly I didnt last time and I think thats why I
suffered

contractions hurt dont get me wrong but people deal with pain differently, I have a medium-high tolerance for pain and the only part I couldnt deal with was the contraction before I felt the need to push...

Everyone has different stories I dont regret it, I try to forget about it because I was given a beutiful girl

I got pregnant when I was 13 and had my first child when I was 14. I went full-term and was induced because I wasn't progressing fast and the Dr. Thought that I could be experiencing placenta previa. After 19 hours of hard labor (the epideral didn't work), I gave birth to my first son, douglas edward (we call him eddie). He weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. And was 20 3/4 inches long. He is now 9.

Two years ago, I gave birth to my second son. I got induced (a week earlier than my due date) at around 7:30 in the morning and gave birth to him at 12:03 in the afternoon. It was the best experience. I was kinda scared because of what I had experienced from my first labor. I was going to go natural, but those contractions were strong!!! So, I got the epideral and it was wonderful!!! I felt the pressure, but no pain. He weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. And was 21 1/2 inches long. His name is caden lee.

I'm really looking forward to having that baby girl someday! I've run out of baby boy names, lol.

Wow, ladies, thank you for sharing your experiences! I am 33 weeks and it's nice to hear about the easy and not so easy deliveries. This is our first and to be honest, I am terrified.
Congrats to everybody! I hope others continue to post their experiences! I'm soaking everything up since I am only7 weeks from giving birth.

Good Labours
Posted: 10-23-05 06:39am

Hi everyone,
i will tell you about my experience with labour.
For my first I had a little girl nikola rose, I went into labour spontaniously, at first I thought I had wet myself as I had a leaky bladder towards the end of the pregnancy, but as soon as I felt this weird pop inside and a trickle I had intence pain. Little did I realise it was this painful I thought to myself I couldnt go 12 hours with this pain, we arrived at the hospital at about 3.00.
The nurses asked me how far apart were my contracions but I didnt have any break they were on top of each other. As I got into my room he nurse told me if I feel the need to do number 2's call, two seconds after she left the room thats what I felt it turned out I was fully dilated they rushed around getting ready for the birth, at this stage I couldnt believe it was so quick. I didnt want to move off the bed even though they said it would be quicker, it hurt more, after 2 hours of pushing nikola was born at 6.18am making my first labour about 4 hours. Couldnt ask for more than that , she was beautiful and perfect. I was 41 weeks.

When I got pregnant next, I was petrified of what the labour would be like, as I thought surly I couldnt get lucky twice. I found out I was having a boy which was great, we picked the name riley. At 28 weeks I developed diabetes and had to go on insulin. I started seeing an ob/gyn and he monitered my levels, I feel I didnt have to go on the insulin but didnt really have a choice, at nearly 37 weeks I noticed one night he wasnt as active as normal I had an appointment on the friday and the doctor sent me off straight away for a ultrasound and fetal moniteing, they found that my little boy had stopped growing at around 34 weeks and was about 5pound 4 oz. I was put in for an induction on sunday the 12th june 2005, this I feel was worse as I knew what was coming. Anyway after I had my waters broken and my cervix stretched(ouch) I was in loubour I got the pain don my leg but the nurse didnt believe me at first I started on the drip at just after 11am and at 12 after just 1hour 10 mins I got the pushing feeling after 3 pushes riley was born, rather painful at the time but not as bad as you think. He weighed 5pound 2 oz and was monited for 24 hours but was fine. He is now 4 months old and still small he now weighs 12 pound but its nice having such a small baby as he still has that newborn look. Good luck all the lady's who are about to deliver.

Just remember it cant be that bad I will go back again next year.

im a first time dad, my baby's due soon. Im only 17 and scared *%^* less. I have never admitted this to my gf, but im starting to think I should. I wanted to seem like a man for her, because I know how hard this is on woman, managing the pain. But maybe I should have a talk to her and just see wat she's feeling (not that I dont ask her) but really have a chat and work out what I can do?

Any one have any advice, should I try sum video's or teen groups or wat? Im getting a really hard time for having this pregnancy, and I just want to start to relax the date is soon and its getting intense.

Trav.

I had my first baby 10 months ago a gorgeous little girl layla jane (i'm now 37 weeks with my second- a boy) I went into labour after a hard nights clubbing at 38 weeks. I got in at 1.30am and my contrations started an hour later. It felt like bad diahorrea pains in my back and when I went to the toilet I noticed my waters had broken and were leaking gradually.
I called the hospital and they told me not to come in yet but I ignored them as my waters had broke and i'd always been told to go straight in if that happens.
I'd been in labour roughly 5 hours when I was first examined and told that I was 1-2 cm. I could of cried! The pain was so intense and I had another 8 cm's to go.
Anyway to cut a long story short I ended up going 19 hours with just gas and air as I was dilating really slowly then I got an epidural and 25 hours after my first contraction layla was born.
Trust me you don't forget the pain after but it does seem all worth while and I concieved again 6 weeks after she was born!
They second second labours are usually less so i'm hoping this is the case! Keep you posted and will write my second birth story soon

My Delivery
Posted: 01-28-06 02:23am

Well lets see...When I was 34 weeks pregnant my blood pressure went through the roof..160/100 I was placed on bed rest and taken out of work. My edd was 10-04-2004 but the friday before when I went to the doctor for the 2nd time in one week my doctor decided that the pre eclapsia had gotten bad and it was best for me to be induced. I went home got my bags and went to the hospital. Started the induction like 2:00 that afternoon and was in labor from 2:00pm friday until 9:51pm sunday when my son was born via emergency c-section. 8lbs 10oz 21.5 inches long and his head was 15 and 1/4th inches. I dont remember much of the whole ordeal except that by sunday afternoon I was begging for something for pain. I spent a total of 6 days in the hospital and the way I see it. The best 6 days of my life!!! I would do it all over in a heart beat.
