I take birth control pills but ive been on antibiotics because I was sick a lil while ago but I just found out that antibiotics can make the birth control pills not work. So my question is, if im pregnant and im still taking birth control pills & my antibiotics until im supposed to get my period which is in 2 weeks, would taking those pills harm the baby? Im very worried any input would be wonderful!

They could.

Usually when you are pregnant you have to tell the dentists and etc etc. Because they give you different medications when you are pregnant so it wont hurt the baby.

What type of anti. Are you taking?

Penicilin (spelling?) .... What about the birth control pills should I stop taking them just in case or should I take them until my period is due?

funny that you say that dalicialynn... I found out I was pregnant mid may (which I was planning but didn't know that we succeeded so soon) but found out a month later that my baby had actually died the month before. Now looking back I remember taking an antibiotic for strep throat just before I found out that I was pregnant. You never really know why you miscarry, now you got me thinking...

I took pencillin for a bladder infection a few weeks ago.
The doc made a preg test and I said "i doubt it, I take bcp" and he said "could be tho" and smiled. I wasn't preggers, oh well! :p
but he gave me pencillin too and I realized at the end of the package that they lower the effeciency. I must say he dissapointed me for not telling me to use some other protection.

Not that I would have anyway! :p hehe.

Well I got my period just as planned.

No I wouldn't say you should stop taking your bcp unless you miss your period. Doing that would just increase the chance of you conceiving now if you had sex the last 5 days!

But its up to you...

I'd stop taking your birth control babe until you know for sure, because birth control pills can harm the baby.
